Went for my anniversary dinner, tipped waiter 10% because she wasn't very good. She didn't give me a receipt back and added 25 dollars to the tip. Don't go here unless you like fraud and being forced to tip nearly 35%.

I visited The Melting Pot for the first time the other day and loved it so much that I decided to take my mom there for dinner for her birthday last night. The experience was completely different the second time. There were very few others in the restaurant but it was a fairly slow night. First, we ordered the Bacon & Jalapeno cheese fondue pot which came out shortly after and we loved it. It took a while for the waitress to come back to the table after we had finished the cheese. We ordered our meat at the same time as our cheese, I ordered the Certified Beef Angus and my mom ordered the Filet Mignon. The steak came out about 15 minutes after we had finished our cheese. Right away my mom knew that it was not Filet Mignon. They say it is but I really don't think you get what you pay for. My Angus was very delicious and tender while her Filet was extremely tough and very discolored (brown and white). My mom then decided that she was going to send the meat back but we had to wait another 25 minutes for the waitress to come back before she could send it back. By that time my mom and I had already shared my Angus and we were ready for the chocolate. Eventually the waitress came over and my mom told her that she didn't care for the Filet. The waitress said she needed to go get the manager. After another ten minutes, the manager came over and said he would take it off the bill. They never apologized or asked why she didn't like the meat. Finally, the waitress came back and we order the chocolate. After another 15 minutes it finally came out and we finished that which was delicious. However, we were poorly seated right by the kitchen door and there was constant traffic in and out the whole time by the staff. Of course, the staff needs to go in and out which is no problem. However, they were loud and obnoxious the whole time and each time the servers went in and out they dropped something which shattered all over the floor. The threw trays around by our table not even considering us sitting there. Once we sent the Filet back it seemed that the waitress was unhappy with us and barely bothered to say goodnight. Overall, except for the Filet, the meal was okay. However, they need to work tremendously on their service and manners. Sad to say it but I most likely won't return, and neither will my mom.

Absolutely horrible. Basically $25 or more per person to cook your own food-which I was unaware of. My partner and I told them that we had never been there before, yet there was no mention from them or on the menu that the food was going to come out raw! Plus, everyone was new and knew nothing. They could not answer any of the questions that we asked. So, when the waiter asked which cooking style we wanted, we assumed that was how the chef was going to prepare it. I mentioned to the waiter that the person with me was a vegetarian, so I wanted to make sure that the broth was vegetable broth. The food came out, I ordered duck breast, and I was shocked to see that it was raw. My partner was disgusted and I was embarassed because I would not have ordered that if I had known. Better yet- she had to cook all of her food before me because everything had to be cooked in the same pot, and as I said before, she does not eat meat. So, she finished way before me and I felt mortified the whole time that I was eating. Thanks a lot, Melting Pot.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Went there for a friends birthday party and it took an hour for us to get served salads another half hour to get served cheese fondue with bread, another half hour to get served our main course which was APPETIZER size, not going to complain about us having to cook it ourselves cause that's pretty much the concept. And finally another long wait for the deserts. The lazy ass waitress even had the gull to tell us that she couldn't split the checks after the fact, could've warned us before you took our orders sweetheart! What really irked me was that I had clearly told her to charge 75$ on my card yet two business days later I see a 100$ charge on my account! Did she give herself an extra tip? Was it an honest mistake? I will never know but I called the restaurant up and an incompetent manager told me he would investigate and call the morning after. HE DIDN'T. I called the next day and finally a competent manager to talk to, I was refunded the $25 however he informed me that it would take another 3 to 4 business days for it to reflect on my account. If you'd like to waste your money on cook-yourself-appetizer-sized-food which cost around $45 then go to the Melting Pot in Poughkeepsie! PS: We were there from 6:30pm to 12:30am! Slowest service ever!

Very fun and different style of dining. Cooking your own food was also quite a fun experience. It is a bit pricey but still worth the money once and a while.

Threw up shortly after eating their dinner. not sure is it was the actual food or the atmosphere and smells. Not pleased with the style of restaurant. something didn't settle well. Will NEVER go back! $120 worth of food ended up on their sidewalk!

I went in with an open mind, walked out annoyed and unsatisfied.
