This is a private museum, so the government hasn't left its mark. It was recommended by a Pre-Colombian archaeologist. The museum stays open until 10. I went after 7 and loved it. The restaurant is beautiful, located next to an erotic gallery of Pre-Colombian artifacts that's housed separately from the main collection!

Beautiful museum. Hundreds of interesting pieces of pre-colombian civilization placed in a retrofitted house and grounds. Overflowing with flowers, the whole experience is as calming as it is informative. Recommend to anyone!

Great museum - lots of artifacts, in a very modern museum setting, and with good English text commentary everywhere. Go at night (opens till 10pm) to avoid the crowds! And don't forget to check out the erotic artefacts exhibition, housed in a separately room to the main exhibition. The best thing? They've also opened up their artefact store room to the public, so you can see all the things they didn't have space for in the permanent exhibition space! Amazing to get this behind the scenes peek and great if you can't get enough of pre-Inca artefacts.

Extensive and well organized collection of ceramics make it easy to see the progression, development and iteration of fundamental themes of duality, the three worlds and sacred plants and animals. Equally compelling collection of gold, jewelry, textiles, qipu and other artifacts present an overview of pre-Incan and Incan artistry and handicraft. Do not miss the collection of "adult themed" ceramics located in a separate exhibit hall, near the restaurant on the lower level.

a gorgeous museum surrounded by beautiful flowers and gardens which also has an excellent restaurant with stellar service. It contains the most extensive, most interesting, and finest collection of pre Colombian pottery pieces to be found anywhee in Peru. It's collection of Mochica pottery is particularly interesing. The erotic collection is equally fascinating and not to be missed. Some have called this Museum a bit pricey, but I thought that it was well worth the money. To view such an excellent collection in such a gorgeous environment was breathtaking. Don't miss it. The personnel in the museum are especially attentive to the needs of the handicapped. Wheelchairs are available and they happily provide attendants to wheel the infirm up the ramps in the museum which also has very clean and excellent toilet facilities for those with special needs.
