Introduction

Meghan Torjussen has been a member of the News 8 team since 2010. In that time she's covered the Boston Marathon bombings, the 2012 Republican Presidential primary, and a whole host of winter storms.

As an anchor for WMTW News 8 This Morning, she's up early each day to tell Mainers what they need to know to start the day.
Meghan came to WMTW News 8 after four years as an anchor and reporter in Wilmington, NC. A graduate of Bryn Mawr College, Meghan decided to pursue her dream of becoming a reporter and earned a Master's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University.

While in graduate school, Meghan interned in New York City at WNBC.

Throughout her career, Meghan has won several awards for her dedication to journalism, including an Associated Press Best Consumer Report award in 2008 as well as a silver medal in the same category by the Radio Television News Directors' Association.

Meghan also received a "Keeper of the Flame" award for her coverage of efforts to locate missing people.

When she's not reporting the news that matters most to you, Meghan is a fierce shopper who loves to run, read, and play with her dogs.

She's also a huge fan of road trips, while along the way, trying new Maine restaurants and indulging in all the fantastic food.

Meghan also enjoys some of the great outdoor activities our state has to offer like hiking, skiing and biking.
