This is a cooking blog from my mom & me.

We recently launched on a new platform (kinda sorta almost from scratch. Maybe I just wanted to play around with jquery, app engine & Google APIs in my free time). Thanks +Marissa Sher and Anna for helping us with design.

Anyway, if you are into food/design, we'd love your feedback on recipes/appearance. And if not, maybe you know somebody interested in cooking?

Actually, never thought I'd do this sort of thing. But somehow, cooking is just so out of my regular work realm that it's infinitely relaxing, but also a constant challenge. Almost like yoga.

My mom's recipe for an easter pastry. If you are into hardcore baking and are not afraid of yeast or of waiting, - give it a try!
Lovely recipe for Easter from Nadia "the mom" at Recipe Studio!

Another really cool artist. She paints over the faces and clothing of physical people to make them look as if they are painted. In a sense, it's art inside out.

A very cool artist. One of her mediums is long strips of paper glued to the canvas perpendicularly: many colorful fences in place of brushstrokes. When the light strikes them they cast shadows of different color, and the work changes dramatically with a change in light.

Sketched this the other day while watching "Breaking Bad", though inspiration was the ending of "The Face of Another" by Kobo Abe:
The man without a face watches a movie in a dark theater. In the movie a girl with a perfect, translucent, elvish profile walks along a concrete wall, keeping as close to it as she can. When a bunch of hooligans decide to ambush her, she turns her face toward them, toward the camera. The other side of it is hideous, a web of monster scars that scare the outlaws off.

This image is not about appearances, though. It is about that part of you, that part of me, the dark part.

Another drawing from my Hands series. This one was modeled on the hand of my grandpa, now in Canada, who used to be a pilot in the USSR was a great handyman with the gadgets of his day.
Fortunately or unfortunately, technology has invalidated so many skills. Whatever will happen to me & my love for C++ 50 years from now?

A drawing from my Hands series, circa 2001. In retrospect, this was a comment about the American education system that excels at producing vegetative thinkers.
