If Lunny hadn't played his back-room politics giving the Dept of the Interior the right to decide, some of this might matter. But, in the end, it was policy, not science of any sort, that resulted in the honoring of Congress' original agreement and the removal of the commercial oyster farm from Drake's Estero. Too bad tons of decaying wood and sunken plastic debris left by Lunny and Co. remain as a sour reminder of their supposed stewardship in the Estero. They bailed, and left a huge mess!. Cleaning their mess will take additional years and lots of expense. Hopefully NPS will hire a new Natural Resources Manager, a position vacant for over 3 years, and begin to address all the continued poor, and potentially illegal, conduct by commercial agricultural businesses operating within the Point Reyes National Seashore.

Please support my grassroots scientific research with the new Experiment.com crowdfunding platform. "Is Plastic a Chronic Killer? Calculating the Toxicity of Plastic Ingestion to Sea Turtles" https://experiment.com/toxicplastic
If you can spare $20, $50, or even $200 to contribute as an individual or group to my crowdfunding effort, before the deadline March 7th, the sea turtles and I would really appreciate it! I’m 18% funded right now, and if I don’t reach the $3,500 goal, none of the pledges will be realized as no money is shared with the project. Please don’t let that happen!
