It was our 1st time to dine here. Their dining hall was pretty. However, the variety in the buffet spread was quite disappointing. Only the dessert station was wowing visually. Also, they do not quickly refill dishes, which are empty or half-filled. The highlight of their lunch buffet was the roasted pig that was straight out of their oven. The dining crew was kind enough to accommodate our impromptu request for a birthday cake and the traditional birthday song with candle-blowing.

Stayed because of a wedding in their ballroom. Servers cleared my plate away when I just got up to take a pic of the bride and groom. My utensils weren't in the "I'm done" position so wtf?! My plate was half full of food; left the wedding hungry and angry. Breakfast was delicious, but staff/servers seemed to always be in a hurry. One sort of clanged a cup and saucer onto our table instead of doing it gently.

Warm Thai hospitality and very comfortable and clean rooms. I like the Thai feeling when I visit this hotel. It will be even better when the renovation is completed. June 16, 2016 update: I'm back for my third visit in the in the past 18 months. My last visit a year ago was during a hotel renovation. I'm happy to report that the hotel renovation is complete and absolutely beautiful. The all day dining restaurant is awesome with several food stations that will satisfy every palate. My room is fresh and new with warm, colors and an updated yet traditional design. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. I will definitely return on my next Visit to Makati.

pantry staff should be trained how to pour hot tea on a cup and not on a guest's hand. my daughter's right hand had blisters as a result. requested written report; management refused to provide. left due to time constraints; we'll be late for our flight back to the usa. ambiance is good, staff were friendly except the breakfast incident.

Sunday brunch buffet at The Pantry was a great discovery for us. Great value for money with a very impressive buffet spread which includes lechon roasted right before your eyes. Go for the Crossover buffet option so you also get to experience the Japanese buffet spread at their Umu Japanese restaurant.

If you're in manila on business, this may be a hotel for you but if you're a tourist or someone who doesn't appreciate being embarrassed by hotel staff, don't stay here. We've been in the Philippines for over 2 weeks and had many enjoyable stays at many hotels. We chose Dusit because of its proximity to the airport and decent reviews. We expected to be treated as a valued customer by such a highly touted "5 star" hotel. Instead, we were received with the ostentatious attitude of a hotel that doesn't appreciate its customers. Being that we're on vacation in a tropical country, we left our business attire at home and instead opted to pack comfortable clothing suited for the weather in the Philippines. So when we got up this morning to have breakfast at the pantry, I didn't give it a second thought to put on my shorts and tank top (a 120 dollar tank to in US dollars) and make my way to the restaurant. As a paying guest at a 5 star hotel, I expect to be able to dine at the restaurant attached to said hotel, but we when we arrived we were turned away. I was informed that my tank top was inappropriate attire and that I'd have to change if I wanted to eat there. I was too embarrassed to put up a fight so we walked down the street to get a meal. I would understand if I was an average Joe walking into a restaurant from the street, but as a paying guest at a hotel, this kind of treatment is unacceptable. At the very least, they should let their guests know at check in about a dress code instead of letting them be publicly embarrassed. In a way, it's refreshing to find a hotel group that cares more about values than their hotel guests spending their money while staying in their hotels. I just question whether their "values" are worth it in the long run. We were going to eat most of our meals here and take advantage of their spa services, but now we won't spend another dime and we're considering changing our accommodations to a hotel that appreciates our business. One thing is for certain, we're never staying at a Dusit Thani Group hotel again.

Dusit Thani Hotel is located in a nice and very convenient location. The staff is very helpful and nice, and the service is very good.
