David Biggar officially joined the First Alert Weather team in June 2011.
joining the team, David interned at KCRA for two years while attending
UC Davis, where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree in
interest in weather started in third-grade while living in New York,
where nor'easters and summer thunderstorms provided an opportunity to
routinely see severe weather in action.
a result, David is a storm chaser and closely follows severe weather in
Northern California and across the country. He has lived in California
February 2013, David earned the designation of Certified Broadcast
Meteorologist (CBM) from the American Meteorological Society. The CBM is
considered a mark of distinction and recognition.
David's background in 3D model design has led to opportunities to visit television stations across the county to provide training and designs of weather graphics.
Outside of weather, David is an avid racing fan. He races his own Mazda Miata on tracks throughout the region. His specialty is in rain racing, go figure. David also has a passion for aviation and flight simulation.
