What We Believe...
The Young Scholars Program believes that a hard working student who has a strong belief in his academic abilities can successfully navigate the waters of college preparation and matriculate to college.
If Post-Secondary Institutions are willing to accept institutional accountability for student achievement by providing the proper support and resources, the number of Young Men of Color matriculating and graduating from college will increase. By promoting a student’s belief in his academic abilities and the importance of education, we improve the odds for high school graduation and ensure steps toward post-secondary education and degree attainment.

Young Scholars Statistics...
In the past six years:
100% of our Scholars are eligible for admission to college
98% of our Scholars matriculate to college
74% graduate within a 4 year period, beating the nation’s average of 54% within a 6 year period
94% graduate within a 5 year period
65% pursue graduate school or professional degrees

Save the Date! Our annual Help A Brother Go 2 College Day and Beyond is October 15, 2017.
Join us for the only College and Career Fair in Northern California exclusively for Young Men of Color. This event provides a win-win situation for students who want to make their dreams of a college education come true, and for colleges and businesses that want to increase the diversity and inclusion at their institutions and companies.
Each year more than 150 students and parents attend this event in order to connect with college recruiters, receive on the spot admissions from some colleges, and get a jump start on the college preparation and application process.
Businesses and Colleges will have the opportunity to introduce these young men to majors and career pathways while creating a pool of candidates for matriculation to their colleges and for internships and future employment opportunities with the participating businesses.
Date & Time: Sunday - October 15, 2017 - 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm
Who Should Attend:
High School grades 10-12 and their parent/guardian; there will be workshops for students and parents

Our website is a place of HOPE. http://youngscholarsprogram.org/
We focus on methods that are successful and can be duplicated by non-profits, school districts, and post-secondary institutions to increase the number of young men of color who are prepared and eligible to matriculate to college; who are retained; and who move toward degree attainment.
