I have some very exciting news... well maybe not as exciting for you as it is for me, but I will share (brag) regardless...

My new lens should arrive and I am pumped to add to my ever-growing kit the award winning lens of the year Sigma 35mm 1.4 DG. It isn't my first prime, but it is definitely going to be the best performing low light lens in my bag.

I plan on reviewing the lens on my website blog for those who might be interested in purchasing this lens in the future. I will keep you posted over G+ when the review is up!

That's all for now folks. Hope you're all enjoying your week!

Drew

Hi guys, it's been months since I was last active here on G+. I am glad to say I have been shooting a fair bit and look forward to sharing some new work with you over the next few weeks. To get things started here's a shot with the full moon rising above the Coffs Harbour Jetty, NSW Australia.

I have actually written a letter to the Coffs Harbour City Council with request for the lights along the Jetty to be replaced. I have never seen all of the lights working on the Jetty in all the years I have lived on the Coffs Coast. It really ruins the entire atmosphere of the place and as a photographer makes it difficult to get good looking shots without doing a shitload of post-processing in Photoshop to bring it back to life. I spent a couple hours editing this image to turn 'on' the lights that weren't working. Turning the lights on was simple, making the reflections look realistic was the time consuming part, but the hard effort paid off and this is the resulting photograph.

It's been ages since I posted any new images on Google+, mainly due to the fact that I have been flat out busy working on side projects. I'm going to find the time to share some of my recent photos with you guys. Here's one taken on a very surreal evening on the Coffs Coast, NSW Australia. The storm front was moving in from the east towards the coastline, just in time for some twilight magic.

Disclaimer: This is a composite image of 2 manually blended exposures in Photoshop CS6. The base exposure for the foreground, clouds and overall scene was taken just on dusk as the magenta hues and blues appeared. I shot this foreground exposure earlier to capture enough detail in the moving water and to freeze the clouds. Roughly half hour after I shot the second exposure for the stars. There were stars starting to appear when the first exposure was taken, but there weren't as many as I wanted. I was surprised the cloud hadn't moved a significant amount in this time, and was lucky enough to get the stars for this photo.

More kelp from my last snorkel in the ocean before the floods ruined the water and made it all murky and yuck! I look forward to getting back out in the ocean with the new fisheye and dome port while the water is still warm.

Please feel free to share this image, I really do appreciate your feedback and support. Thanks everyone!
