Things You Need For Your First Apartment: The Ultimate Checklist

You found an apartment (hopefully at The Verano or another RMS Companies property). Congrats, you’re ready to move in, but wait, you need things... And what, exactly?

Here’s a handy checklist you’ll need (or at least want, in all likelihood), and keep in mind many of these items can be bought cheaply second-hand or even picked up free. Those in bold are priority. Let us know if we’ve missed anything, in the comments!

Entrance area
• Welcome mat (for outside the door)
• Small area rug (for just inside the door)
• Wall hooks for jackets, keys, etc.
• Small table or bench for shoe storage
• Lamp, if there’s no other light source by the door

Shop at over 100 craft and artisan boutiques on Bedford Street, which will be closed to traffic for the weekend.  Dine in our extended sidewalk cafe.

Don’t miss the Imagination Station with “hands on” activities for kids presented by the Stamford Museum and Nature Center and the Bartlett Arboretum including farm animals and crafts. The Stamford Family YMCA will be running a Zumba class at 10am and Yoga class at 11am both Saturday and Sunday and Chelsea Piers Connecticut will be running boot camp classes throughout the weekend. Pinot’s Palette-Stamford will host a public collaborative painting project.
