Looks like you managed to stay pretty busy
Current Location: Rocky Point Oregon at 35 degrees F and spitting snow mixed in the rain. February used to be a really tough month for me.  Back in the days of working and living in Northern Idaho, the sun was still low in th...

Yes, +heyduke john , it turned out to be a rather busy month, but fun.  I have been enjoying watching your southwest journey and your posts about possible landing sites.

Maybe we will come visit Cibola WLR while we are in Quartzsite...
Last February, we stopped by Cibola National Wildlife Refuge to visit RVing friends Joe and Murlene Anderson who were volunteering at the refuge. We wrote about that visit here. (As an aside, Joe is a fabulous photog...

we stayed there before... loved the hot springs but loathed the wind we had during our visit... beautiful place nonetheless
Current Location: Catalina Spa and RV Resort, Desert Hot Springs, CA Once again we have traveled south to the desert early in January.  Once again we are settled in at our favorite little winter spot, relaxing in the almost b...

Yes, +heyduke john we know about the winds that can be here, but so far not this time, and we haven't had them in the past few years that we have been here.  Might be more of an issue as spring commences I would think.

Sad to hear about Abby...a question though, is that park easily accessible to us with bigger rigs?
Current Location: Rocky Point Oregon 59F and smoky at 7AM It has been hot here this summer, hotter than we are used to in Rocky Point at least.  We don’t have air conditioning at this house, and except for a very few days in...

Yes, +heyduke john the Medicine Campground (third one in on the loop) has plenty of space for large rigs.  Our favorite Al Hogue has a few big rig sites, the first campground on the loop, Hemlock, is not as big rig friendly, with very unlevel sites.  It is better for tents although we do see motorhomes and trailers in there.  The road up through California from Highway 299 is narrow but perfectly fine for big rigs.  The road west from Highway 39 and Tulelake is narrow and a constant grade, but a big rig could do it.  For some reason that road, although paved, is incredibly rough.

Was great to meet the two of you as well... always great to put faces and personalities with a blog you follow... surely we will meet again...

Yep…as you know, all detours are not good ones but this was a good and very special detour to see our grandkids Addison and David from St. Louis. Thanks to their mom and dad, we arranged for us all to meet at Lake of the Ozar...

We are passing each other again! +heyduke john  I remember once back in California when we could have hollered over a fence!  Sorry you missed Manatee, I did make that reservation about 6 months ago.  I am feeling good about my reservation choices, in spite of what a pain it is to travel on a schedule.
