This was the best experience I think I've ever had at a hotel. My boyfriend and I drove 16 hours to Myrtle Beach for spring break, only to be turned away from our original hotel. Caravelle was directly next to it, so we walked on in and got an executive suite (with a full kitchen and a view of the ocean!) for less than we paid at the first hotel. The staff at the front desk were some of the nicest people. We got our room at 10am, which was so pleasant considering we were running on 6 hours of sleep combined. I would totally tell all of my friends & family to stay here! They truly showed what "southern hospitality" was.

The hotel was a great place to stay. Easy access to the beach, nice pool setup, and a cool rooftop sundeck. The only bad part was parking. Sometimes it was hard to find a spot.

Nice quiet location away from the more tourist heav portions of Myrtle. The rooms vary depending on the property you stay in. Some are obviously better than others. Fun pool area that would be great for kids. The staff is very accommodating. We booked our stay in Priceline but did not like the rooom assignment we received. The staff allowed us to move to another room in another tower for a minimal fee and with minimal frustration. Would stay here again.

great hotel, friendly staff. room was good, had a good view of the ocean. room was on the 14th floor, elevators toward the beach side moved very fast! Room was missing closet door, rug needed a deep steam cleaning, was a little damp, stayed damp. but I'm picky, it was vacuumed. Bar was good(liquids lounge), staff friendly, bar food was just ok. Breakfast was very good. I will go back, but only for 30 percent off deal.

Where do I begin? In March 2016, I made reservations (a week before arrival date) for my family so that we could celebrate our youngest son's birthday. After we arrived to check into the hotel, we were told that our reservation had been cancelled but the staff wasn't sure why and had informed us that we should have gotten a notification that it had been cancelled. The hotel had my husband's number and my email address so they had a way to get up with me to inform me that the reservation had been cancelled (never received any kind of notification about the cancellation). We had drove 2 hours to get there and now we were standing there without a room and all rooms had been booked. One of the managers told me that he would call their sister property (Forest Dunes) to see if they had a room. After checking out Forest Dunes, they only had one room for one night and it would not accommodate my family. Plus, the hotel had a bad smell. I ended up calling the reservation number that was given to me to see if there was anywhere available for us to stay. Instead of our original $350 lodging cost, we ended up having to dish out $800 because The Caravelle Resort didn't send a notification and the place we ended up staying was the only available place that could accommodate my family. I ended up speaking to Steve Showers, Guest Services Manager, about the situation and I was given a credit to use for another stay but instead of contacting the hotel, I would need to contact him because I would get him quicker and it would be easier to let him handle it. Of course, after trying to contact him on several occasions through email and phone calls, I still have not gotten a response from him. I feel like I have been given the run around. This is not how a customer should be treated. I would NOT recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. It is ridiculous.

We arrived at the hotel a lot later than check in time. When we went to the desk, they immediately had problems with our reservations. After quite some time, we tried to ask Susan Hucks, the manager, what the problem was. She completely ignored us. She was unapologetic whatsoever. She was terribly unprofessional. We then learned that they overbooked our room so we had to move to another building, "The Dry Docks." That was fine because it was an "upgrade" from what we had originally booked. We went to the room and it was severely filthy and outdated. It was also 83 degrees so we set the A/C to 70. Then we left to have dinner only to return to the room being 83 degrees. We went back into the office and they told us that the maintenance man got "stuck in the elevator." Finally, they set up with a room in Carolina Winds. This room was great. The next day, we had to pack up and drive back to Caravelle and stay the night there. At last, we got to stay in the main building with an ocean view. This actually was an upgrade but this hotel was absolutely ridiculous. I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.

We loved the Caravelle Resort. The place is well kept and our oceanfront room was excellent.Very clean... The staff was friendly and helpful. This is on the North side of Ocean Blvd. It was quite and family oriented. This end of the Strand on the beach is much nicer. If you are looking for a relaxing time, this is it compared to the main grand strand strip.. They have their own restaurant. We bought the beach and breakfast package and it was well worth it. The breakfast at the resorts restaurant was very good. They have a buffet type Breakfast and a omelet and waffle station with a cook that cooks your omelet the way you want it. This is included in the beach and breakfast package. They have a huge hot tub and pool and a water playground for the kids. They also have a pool on the 7th floor. They have a 6 floor parking deck and an overflow parking deck across the street. They do require a $100.00 security damage deposit which you get back at check out. I would definitely stay here again.

Where do I start. For starters, this is not a resort but more so like The Caravelle Properties. They've bought old hotels, renovated them and put their name on it. We stayed in the main hotel on the 15th floor and the room was nice but nasty. I basically had to clean the entire room myself (I happened to bring cleaning supplies with me). The floors were horrible, we found toe nail clippings all on the floor. The bathroom was nasty as well. I literally had to get down to clean the sides of the toilets. Their indoor pool was so small and as soon as you opened the door to go in, the strong smell of chlorine hit you in the face. I couldn't stay for long, due to my eyes burning. Their outside pool was fine, just old and dated. The staff were friendly. Overall, I would not stay at this "hotel" again. Luckily, this was a quick getaway and not an actual family vacation. They did give us a good deal on the room, but we had to clean it due to the lack housekeeping.
