Went here today after having heard many good things over the years. Garden out back is lovely but both the service and the food were some of the worst I have ever experienced in London. To begin with, the guy at the counter was exceptionally rude and appeared to be either extremely hungover or actually still high on something from the night before. Rather than serving us he stood around uselessly making himself a coffee and drinking it in front of us while avoiding eye contact. When we finally got him to take our order he was very brisk and still didn't make eye contact. We ordered the Halloumi Wrap and the Vegan Burger and had to wait for over 30 minutes, which seemed very long given that the place was basically empty. When the food finally came, they had forgotten the cheese on my burger and when I went inside another waiter looked at me stoically and dragged my plate into the kitchen to add some cheese to the burger, without even so much as apologising. I trudged back to the garden with my burger and tried one of the 'homemade' fries. It was inedible. The oil in their fryer clearly wasn't hot enough so what they had served me were oil drenched pieces of potato still completely raw on the inside. Absolutely vile. To top it all off, my partner bit into his Halloumi wrap to find an entire raw garlic clove inside. What a terrible disappointment, absolutely avoid! It's a shame that vegetarian places so often fall short on service and food quality in this city.

Lovely place, with a lovely garden and good food. I recommend the halloumi wrap. This is the perfect place to go on the weekend for a late lunch.

Great ambience, beautiful garden, art, very good food and friendly staff. They didn't note down one dish we had requested and when they realized they brought it for free.

I m really sorry to write this today. The coffee is amazing. The customer service is fantastic. The only thing that needs to be changed is the chef. I mean. The menu is boring, the ingredients are cheap, you can find very long hair in the plates ( disgusting) and everytime you get the same dish it come out in a different way. Yeah. The head chef (what?!?!)should leave this fantastic cafe and i m sure it will be amazing. Come on guys. Wake up!!

I love vegan burgers that don't try to creepily imitate meat, so Gallery Cafe succeeds with its patty made from tofu and veggies. Great texture, nicely flavored, and the sourdough bun is swirled with vegan mayo that also passes muster. Side salad and a generous helping of fries rounds out the £7.95 meal, and it was enough for me for a light lunch and dinner. Great seating area with plenty of light, and the vibe made me do doubletakes to make sure I hadn't warped back to Berkeley. The place can get packed on sunny weekends, but not much trouble finding a table if you don't mind a bit o' a squeeze. There's a little stage for live music as well!

A beautiful cafe with a lovely terrace and garden, great food and delicious coffee. UNFORTUNATELY the friendly efforts of some staff are overshadowed by an extremely unfriendly member of staff who makes you want to apologies for even placing your order let alone asking a question. Sadly, she ruins the lovely atmosphere of the Gallery Cafe and I will be sure to avoid the place when she is around. (She has been on shift several times when I was there, and regardless of whether the place was busy or empty, she was always in a terrible mood).
