Tucson utility got solar power at 3 cents/kwh, the lowest price for any form of power in the US. Solar is on its way to powering the planet :)

See why (eco🌎+public health🌈+☮etc reasons) i installed ☀️ solar panels equivalent to planting 322 treeshttps://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/fRXCoB36DdD and why i drive an electric car equivalent to planting 382 trees (if the oil car would be refilled weekly) ► https://plus.google.com/+AlexPsi/posts/HN9dbDavUzz.
If your panels produce more electricity than you use, you get free charging for your car too, like me. 💜😊💜

Imagine having a fridge-sized box in your home that not only generates and stores electricity on-site, but heats and cools the house, provides hot water and even churns out oxygen and hydrogen to use or sell. That's the vision a team from the University of Newcastle and Australian company Infratech Industries is working towards, and New Atlas spoke to two of the minds behind this potentially game-changing "Swiss army knife" of energy production.

#NTU partners #Danish consortium to Develop #Technologies to improve the #Sustainability and #Liveability of Cities #SmartCities #Denmark #Singapore

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and the Smart City World Labs, a Danish consortium, are collaborating to develop technologies to improve the sustainability and liveability of cities.

This includes the test-bedding of various technologies ranging from water and energy saving innovations, to green building systems and electric vehicles for tropical megacities such as Singapore.

The tests will be conducted on NTU’s 200-hectare campus, which is already a living lab for many environment-friendly research projects such as the 5-megawatts peak rooftop solar farms installed on buildings around campus.

Smart Solar #EnergyStorage Systems to make the #Energy System more #Sustainable #SolarEnergy

Many elements are required for making the energy system more sustainable. Among them are smart solar storage systems, smartly interconnected energy grids, and electricity-based synthetic fuels (e-fuels). KIT studies the related technologies and will present latest findings and outlooks at the Intersolar and ees Europe exhibitions (May 31 to June 02, 2017, Munich). The main topics covered at the KIT booth will be the Helmholtz “Energy Lab 2.0” research platform, the “SafetyFirst” project for efficient home storage systems, and experience gained from the operation of Germany’s largest solar power storage park for research at KIT.
