Legacy At Linden Park
1000 Misty Mountain Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502
The other reviews here don't tally with my experience. I've lived at three different apartments at Legacy over the past 5 years, and don't recognize most of the complaints people have.

The staff are friendly and helpful. They are young as someone pointed out, but I don't think that's a problem if they're doing their job well?

I haven't ever needed to call maintenance out, but they're always around the complex and friendly when they're doing filter changes etc.

The quality of the apartment seems to be on par with what you'd get from other apartment places. Compared to the others I looked around, they're actually more spacious. Perhaps my only complaint here is the kitchen cabinetry feels a little cheap compared to the price of rent. The applicances have always worked fine and are reasonable quality though.

Someone said the pool and fitness area are too small. Whenever I go to the fitness area it's usually empty or very quiet, and the pool is bound to be busy in the summer.

I do think the washer/dryer rental cost is too high, so I had to buy my own. If the rental cost was more reasonable, I'd have preferred to rent them. There is a laundry room at the clubhouse that takes tokens, though I've never used it.

Lastly, parking has never been an issue in each of the 3 buildings I've lived in. I can always park right outside the entrance I use.

One downside worth mentioning - though it's not Legacy's fault - is internet can only be purchased through Access Media 3. My experience with them since they switched from Shentel has been average at best, and the available DSL speeds are rapidly falling behind what's available elsewhere in Lynchburg. I hope they upgrade it soon.

I like Legacy (obviously, otherwise I wouldn't keep returning) and would recommend them to anyone looking to live in Lynchburg. I don't know if the other reviewers just had bad luck or some specific issue that's irritated them, but my experiences have been very different!

It seems Google+ is starting to gain the momentum it needs. I'm still checking it fairly regularly which is a good sign, and there's usually new content to see. Though I've noticed it's mostly the techy 'online' friends using it, rather than the not-so-techy. Hopefully Google can get the word out to everyone and get them interested.

Either share their personal lives or add Farmville...that'd work too. ;)

I've had great experiences with Hampton Inn around the country, so booked this one when I needed to stay near Dulles. Unfortunately they don't bother telling you about the freight train outside (literally 20 ft from the hotel) until you check in. It came past 4 times during the night, blowing the whistle two of them. I don't know whether the hotel or train was there first (a lot of construction has been done nearby), but that doesn't matter - this is a terrible location for a hotel. I can't recommend staying here if you value peaceful sleep. Choose another nearby Hampton Inn instead.
