A wonderful spot for a casual "not sure what to do" weekend dinner for Marin, or a lovely place to venture for people further afield for that comfort food experience. It's fantastic on all counts, and I really couldn't imagine a negative experience. The menu is extremely accessible, and it's a cozy night with stunning service and delicious food in a really warm atmosphere. Fresh, local ingredients in season, as it should be... a place we will return time and time again.

Prices have come down since the "remake" but so has the diversity and quality of the food. We use to be regulars on our Norcal visits, not so much any more, something is missing. Too bad there are not more and better choices in Marin County.

This is the place where you might take grandma and grandpa for that special lunch (hey, no flames, I love my grandpa and grandma, k?) The decor, the service, and the food basically are low-key and while decent, and sometimes even really good, its hard to get excited about this place. And yes, as some reviewers have noted, prices have come down, but not far enough to make it worthwhile going here.

Ate here last night and this place has its highs but unfortunately the lows don't make up for it. First the good. The mac and cheese croquets are a lovely appetizer. My husbands scallops were cooked well (but not amazing). The Butterscotch pudding is amazing. We liked the option of a half bottle of Zin from their "Wine on Tap" menu. Now the lows: This place has terrible seating for couples. The only two tops are either in awkward places by open internal doors or crammed next to posts. We changed tables three times but never felt comfortable. One waiter looking for an extra chair smacked into me twice walking behind me once looking for the chair and then the second time he hit me with the chair. Another smacked my chair just walking by. Next: The Artic Char, fishy, salty, served with flaccid skin on. Vegetables tasted like they were cooked in the fish oil (I see this same complaint below). All piled rather un-artfully on some tasteless puree. (Chefs please stop serving us baby food calling it some fancy name!). Halfway through our meal our server came and poured the rest of our wine into my husbands glass filling it almost to the top, never even asking if I would like some, let alone the mistake of over pouring. I guess they had run out of bottles... We were both so taken aback that any server would do this we looked at each other quite stunned! This place has been around for a while so perhaps they are just getting bored.
