For the sisters especially:

Even though praying Taraaweeh is a Sunnah, one should try not to miss out on it due to the great rewards associated with it.

Those who cannot make it to the Masjid to offer the Taraaweeh can offer the night prayers at their homes and at their leisure.

Those who cannot lengthen their prayers because they have small children to look after can pray the short Surahs starting from Surah al-Feel (105) to Surah al-Naas (114). This way they have prayed Ten Raka`aat and in the Witr they pray Surah al-Ikhlaas. Knowing that completing the Qur’aan in Taraaweeh is not a condition.

يُرِيدُ اللَّـهُ بِكُمُ الْيُسْرَ وَلَا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ الْعُسْرَ

{Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you.} [Surah al-Baqarah (2): 185]

[The Imaam of the Masjid where I grew up used to start the Taraaweeh with Surah al-Feel and he would do that for the whole month.]

Was Aadam a Prophet or not?

QUESTION: If Aadam عليه السلام was a Prophet, then why was Nooh عليه السلام mentioned first in the following Aayah...

⚡Revive the Sunnah of making Du`aa in the Night Prayers (Taraaweeh, Qiyaam al-Layl, Tahajjud)🌟

🚩 When you are feeling helpless:

Remember that Surah Yusuf was revealed in “the Year of Sorrow” (`aam al-Huzn) when the uncle & wife of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمpassed away.[1]

Therein Allaah تعالى says: {And Allaah has full power and control over His Affairs, but most of men know not.} [Surah Yusuf (12):21]

A 100 years after that Surah was revealed, Islaam reached Spain and many other parts of the world! Allaah kept His promise then and Allaah will surely keep it with us, as long as we fulfill our promise to Him, that we will worship Him alone upon the teachings of the Prophet ﷺ. And that is the meaning of: لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله.

Ibn `Ataa said: ❝No one who is afflicted by distress hears this Surah, except that he will find solace in it.❞ [Tafseer al-Baghawee]

*****

💢[1] There is no authentic narration to confirm the exact reason and time for the revelation of this Surah, but this is what is most famous regarding it among the historians and that it was revealed 2-3 years before the Hijrah. And Allaah knows best.

🌟Ramadhaan is coming!🌟
✔ So O doer of good, proceed!
🚫 And O doer of evil, desist!

📘 Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said:

❝On the first night of the month of Ramadhaan, the Shayaateen are shackled, the (mischievous) jinns are restrained, the gates of the Fires are shut such that no gate among them would be opened. The gates of Paradise are opened such that no gate among them would be closed, and a caller (Angel) calls:

'O seeker of the good; proceed!' and 'O seeker of evil; desist!'

For there are those whom Allaah frees from the Fire. And that is every night.❞

📚 [Sunan al-Tirmidhee (682) and the wordings are his, and Sunan Ibn Maajah (1642) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee. Al-Nasaa’ee (2107) with a slight different wordings]

Reciting the Qur'aan for worldly benefit: Hadeeth #5 #6 #7 & #8

#5 Narrated `Ubaadah Ibn as-Saamit رضي الله عنه: I taught some of Ahl al-Suffah (the recitation of) the Qur’aan and (the art of) writing and one of them gave me a bow. I said: It is not (a great amount of) wealth; I may shoot with it in the cause of Allaah. I shall go to the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) and ask him (about it). So I went to him and said: O Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ)! One of those whom I have been teaching the Qur’aan and writing has given me a bow, and it is not (a great amount of) wealth, and I may shoot with it in the cause of Allaah. He (ﷺ) said:

❝If you want to have a necklace of fire tied to your neck then accept it.❞

📚 [Sunan Abu Dawood (3416) and Sunan Ibn Maajah (2157) and graded as “Saheeh by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

#6 In another the wordings are:

❝A live coal between your shoulders which you have placed around your neck❞ or (he said) ❝hung around your neck.❞

📚 [Sunan Abu Dawood (3417) and graded as “Saheeh by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

🌴🌴🌴

#7 And in another it is:

❝If you accept it, you will be accepting a bow of fire.❞ So I returned it.

📚 [Sunan Ibn Maajah (2158) and graded as “Saheeh by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

🌴🌴🌴

#8 And in another it is:

❝Whoever takes even a bow (as compensation) for teaching the Qur’aan, Allaah will place a bow made out of Fire around his neck on the Day of Judgment.❞

[al-Saheehah of Shaikh al-Albaanee (256)]

*And the actions of the Kuffaar are nothing but in error!*

Adopted from Tafseer Ibn Katheer:

`Umar bin Al-Khattaab رضي الله عنه passed by the monastery of a monk and he said: `O monk! O monk!' Then the monk came out, and `Umar looked at him and began to weep. Then it was said to him: `O Commander of the faithful! Why are you weeping' He replied: `I remembered the statement of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, in His Book:

 ﴿عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ - تَصْلَى نَاراً حَامِيَةً﴾

{Laboring, weary. They will enter into Fire, Haamiyah.}

So that is what has made me cry.’

Imaam Al-Bukhaaree رحمه الله recorded that Ibn `Abbaas رضي الله عنهما said:

 ﴿عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ﴾

{Laboring, weary.} meaning: “The Christians.”
--end of quote from Tafseer Ibn Katheer (Darussalam).

Allaah تعالى also says (interpretation of the meaning):

{And We shall turn to whatever deeds they (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.) did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust.} [Surah al-Furqaan (25): 23]

Also:

{As for those who disbelieve, their deeds are like a mirage in a desert. The thirsty one thinks it to be water, until he comes up to it, he finds it to be nothing, but he finds Allaah with him, Who will pay him his due (Hell). And Allah is Swift in taking account.} [Surah al-Noor (24): 39]

Reciting the Qur'aan for worldly benefit: Hadeeth #4

Abu Sa`eed al-Khudree رضي الله عنه said that he heard the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) as saying:

❝Learn the Qur’aan, and ask Allaah for Jannah by it before there comes a people who will learn it and seek the Dunya by it. There are three (types of people) who learn the Qur’aan:
a) a person who boasts about it (or seeks fame/praises by it);
b) a person who earns (wages) by it;
c) a person who recites it for the sake of Allaah.❞

Reciting the Qur'aan for worldly benefit: Hadeeth #2 & #3

#2 Narrated Jaabir Ibn `Abdullaah رضي الله عنهما: The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) came to us while we were reciting the Qur’aan, and there were among us Bedouins and the non-Arabs. He (ﷺ) said:

❝Recite, all is well. In the near future there will appear people who will straighten it (the Qur’aan) as an arrow shaft is straightened. They will be hasty with it (i.e. either reciting it quickly or seeking immediate reward) and not slowly (or not seeking the reward of the Hereafter).❞

📚 [Sunan Abu Dawood (830) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee. See al-Saheehah (259)]

*

#3 Sahl Ibn Sa`d al-Sa`ideeرضي الله عنه said: The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) one day came out to us while we were reciting the Qur’aan. He (ﷺ) said:

❝Praise be to Allaah. The Book of Allaah is one, and among you are the red, and among you are the white and among you are the black. Recite it, before there comes a people who will recite it – they will straighten it just as an arrow shaft is straightened. They will seek its rewards immediately, and will not defer it (or they will get their reward for it in this world and will not get it in the Hereafter).❞

📚 [Sunan Abu Dawood (831) and graded as “Hasan Saheeh” (due to supporting chain, see previous Hadeeth) by Shaikh al-Albaanee. See al-Saheehah (1/521)]

Reciting the Qur'aan for worldly benefit: Hadeeth #1

Narrated Al-Hasan (al-Basree) that `Imraan bin Husain رضي الله عنه passed by a reciter reciting (the Qur'aan), then he began begging. So he (`Imraan) said al-Istirjaa' (إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون) (Indeed to Allaah we belong and to Him shall we return). Then he said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) saying:

❝Whoever recites the Qur'aan, then let him ask Allaah by it. For indeed there will come a people, who will recite the Qur'aan, asking from the people because of it.❞

📚 [Sunan al-Tirmidhee (2917) and graded as "Saheeh li ghairihee" (Saheeh due to supporting chains) by Shaikh al-Albaanee]

There are people who go around from one Masjid to another, getting paid to complete the recitation of the whole Qur’aan in three nights in Ramadhaan (and I am not talking about the wages of regular Imaams of the Masaajid or about those who teach the Qur’aan for a nominal fee)
