The FODMAP Issue
There has been lots of news recently about people not really having gluten sensitivity.  Maybe its FODMAPS that are the issue and people with non celiac gluten sensitivity's problems are "all in their head." For many struggling with this condition, this typ...

May is Celiac Awareness month.  This is my little man's story of how he was diagnosed with gluten sensitivity.
I talked last week with someone from a project I hope to be soon involved with. As we were talking, I told my story of how my little man was diagnosed.  I'm grateful this was not years of struggling to figure out what was wro...

09:28: Suddenly felt the urge to disassemble the mystery box in the hopes of finding something useful inside. Bad idea - right in the middle of the process a spiteful gremlin jumped out of it, grabbed 504 gold coins from my pocket and ran away.

This place is fabulous. An original hotel from 1898! I was searching bed and breakfasts for a place to stay just one night and attend a friend's wedding the next day. Prince Solms was the only place to have a one night reservation. I was expecting just a small room, we booked the smaller Penelope Room and got upgraded to the larger Summerhouse suite since they were not too busy that night! The main inn houses most rooms but they also have a stable room and cottage separate from the main house to reserve. They have wireless internet and cable despite being such an old historical inn. A nice upstairs patio where I'm sitting and enjoying my coffee now, and a larger courtyard to also enjoy the fresh outdoor air. And even though there was modern amenities, the look and feel was of the early 1900's. The inn is located near downtown and we were able to get a map of local nightlife spots from the owner and walk to enjoy the local nightlife. Breakfast is prepared by staff and served in the dining room. My husband and I will be back to make it a longer weekend for sure.

Great location for a romantic getaway! I searched several hill country bed and breakfasts before stumbling across this one. Great priced cabins with modern amenities such as satellite TV, spa tub, internet, sleep number bed. The best part, breakfast! So much yummy country cooking that my husband and I couldn't finish. The two days we stayed, we feasted on smoked chicken and cheese, the best grits I've ever tasted, fresh oatmeal and fruit, eggs with avocado, thick cut peppered bacon, country style potatoes smothered in gravy, and a melt in your mouth pumpkin waffle that had cream cheese and brown sugar topping. Always fresh apple juice served in a stopper topped bottle. Did I mention they deliver it to your cabin? Located about 30 minutes from all the hill country must see towns such as Bandera and Fredericksburg, this out of the way gem is one we will be back for again and again.
