Last week, many of our Student Reps enjoyed a well-deserved incentive trip to Agadir, Morocco.
The trip also offered an opportunity for them to participate in our Share the Advantage initiative by visiting the local SOS Village d'Enfants – an International NGO that supports local orphans by providing safe shelter and a loving family environment.
The students spent the day visiting with the children and the SOS mothers. The experience left the group very humbled and honored to have met such a great service organization. The donation event included school supplies, sets of Southwestern Advantage books, and $2,000 of funding for the organization.
Thank you SOS Village d'Enfants in Agadir for hosting. It was a pleasure to support your outstanding mission.

How does a university student build a profitable business in a new and unfamiliar community over their summer break?

During the summer, Student Reps typically stay with Host Families. Because students run their own small businesses, housing is neither guaranteed or paid for by the company. However, multiple systems of accountability are in place to ensure that each student is guided through the process, is able to secure safe and affordable housing, and lives with fellow participants of the same gender. Students are instructed to keep both their parents and program leaders updated throughout the process, and an open line of communication with the company remains available for all parties involved by calling 888-602-7867.
