The Social Media presentations I've been to have had a similar message "don't try to do it all". Pick one and do it well, but don't spread yourself too thin. I also keep hearing that Google+ is for the more "tech savvy" user. For my company Facebook really works and it works well. Yes, we're on Twitter, and yes I made a Google+ page as soon as they opened it up for businesses, but Google+ is not going to be where our guests are.
On the other side, I kinda wish our consumers WERE interested in G+ because I really think G+ has potential. The Hangout thing I mentioned before, but also being able to use circles to segment your community. There might be something to that.
I haven't really played around with the business pages on G+, but they have a lot to compete with vs Facebook. I'm absolutely in love with the new analytics that Facebook released a couple weeks ago.
