Help Ypsilanti Win the SunShot Community Challenge with 49¢ and Two Minutes of your Time.

As many of you know, Ypsilanti was selected to compete for the +U.S. Department of Energy SUNSHOT Community Challenge. Our project, partnering with Chart House Energy, is to train and employ local residents to install a megawatt of solar power on the City's old landfill near the Huron exit of I94. (See video below) What's holding us back is DTE Energy approving the project. Please go to (http://www.solarypsi.org/DTE_letter.docx), edit the letter to add your name, print it off, sign it, and mail it to DTE. It doesn't matter where you live. The SunShot challenge is a national competition. We need DTE to get a thousands of letters in the mail all asking for them to approve this project and let us start installing solar panels this summer.

When you mail your letter, add a comet so we can all keep track of the progress. Share this posting with your friends. Print off 10 blank letters and get your neighbors to send in letters. All it takes is 49¢ and two minutes of your time. We need a thousands of letters on DTE's desk to convince them that this is a great project for DTE, great for Ypsilanti, and great for the planet.

If we're successful, this will DOUBLE the amount of solar power in Ypsilanti.

Great press release about our recent SolSmart award. The FIRST in Michigan! Please share this with your friends and tell them that we continue to look for funding for more solar projects in Ypsi. I would love to put solar on 50 low income homes in Ypsi. Please give me an introduction to any philanthropic people or organizations that can help us make it happen. #ypsilanti #solsmart #solarfoundation #solarypsi
