From Open Table:

"This was a great meal. It was also one of the best value meals we have ever had, given the quality of the food we were served; the Seacuterie dish in particular was superb. The dining area was pleasant, with super views over to the legislature as the sun began to set. In summer, the patio area will be a delightful place to eat. But the star of the show was the food; just great."

Thank you for stopping by.

"If you want to treat yourself with a beautiful and divine supper you have to stop at AURA. This is for the connoisseur of good cuisine. They have a good selection of wines, the service is the top of the profession, the quality and details of the plates are from the real Chef. I have been in a lot of restaurants in my time, being in the business for 23 years, and this is in my top choice of restaurant. If you go to Victoria and want a treat you, well there is only one place and this is it AURA" - -A Happy Guest

Alumnus, from Iowa City:

"Favorite Restaurant

This is the best restaurant in Victoria-great outside seating overlooking the bay, watching people walking along the sea wall-enjoy the excellent food and top notch service! This is our go to restaurant in Victoria!"

Thank you so much for your kind words! We love all of those things too 😊.

Don't forget, this Sunday, August 12 is our renowned monthly brunch buffet! Opt for a mimosa (or two) as well, since that is just simply the thing to drink when you’re this close to the ocean!

Reservations are always recommended. (250) 414 6739.

In celebration of BC Day, why not pair your meal with a delicious BC Wine this weekend? 🍷 🇨🇦

Not sure about Canadian wines? Jim, who was celebrating his wife's birthday with friends at AURA, sent us this story about his experience with our Maître d’, Robin Bourne.

"...so we took a path along the edge of the Inner Harbor and were soon back in our hotel’s lobby and seated on its outside patio for a glass of wine while enjoying the pleasant weather and the view.

I gave BJ her birthday card and somehow the Sommelier (who we had not seen) came out to say “Happy Birthday” and to generally discuss our wine selections, Nancy with a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, BJ with a French Chardonnay, and me with a French Cab Franc … the point being “No Canadian wines.”
He asked us if we had ever tried any Canadian wines and BJ asked him “Are there really any good ones?” with the strong implication being that she didn’t think there were. This led to a lovely and remarkably enjoyable conversation with the Sommelier, Robin Bourne.

At some point, he left and soon returned with four glasses and four bottles of, in his view, some quite well made Canadian wines. The three of us were soon passing the glasses around and having an impromptu wine tasting. It was great fun and Mr. Bourne much deserved our thanks. We liked three of the four wines he brought to us:

1. 2016 “Haywire”, a Pinot Gris from Switchback Organic Vineyard, Okanagan Valley, BC, VQA; definitely “true to type” – a very pleasant, traditional, Italian-style Pinot Gris.

2. 2016 Interloper Gewürztraminer from the Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards, Okanagan Valley, BC, VQA; slightly sweet. As a group we thought this would go well with spicy dishes, perhaps a curry. I suggested it might be nice with Fondue.

3. 2015 Stoneboat Pinot Noir from the Okanagan Valley, BC VQA, 15 months in oak barrels, 1000 cases made, 13.5% alc. Website: stoneboatvineyards.com 350 Orchard Grove Lane, Oliver, BC (250) 498-2226"

Thank you for trusting us with your wine selections 🍷. Cheers!
