My heart is with the people in Hawaii who were tramatized by the false missile attack alarm. I hope you all hug and love one another and appreciate this beautiful life. May some good come from this horrible error. Sending you all my aloha.

Congratulations to The Nature Conservancy, and every one of us who benefits when beautiful land like this gets preserved in perpetuity.

Just got this notification from +Google Maps that my #photosphere (360 degree panorama) of Auckland airport has been viewed over 2.4M times! When my team and I first launched user contributions for Street View, we had a feeling these photos would be tremendously helpful to people everywhere. Great to see that is true!

I highly recommend watching this video and reading the book Drawdown, by Paul Hawken.

Rest in peace, Jerry Fodor, one of this century's most influential philosophers and cognitive psychologists. I remember a wonderful day of discussion at his apartment with him and my undergrad advisor, Dennis Proffitt. He had a love for classical music and was so excited to show me his vacuum tube speakers (since I was in college and had never seen those).

Here's a great quote:
“What our cognitive science has done so far is mostly to throw some light on how much dark there is.”
