The Internet of Things (IoT) is advancing and proliferating rapidly. According to CISCO's estimate, more than 10 billion connected devices are now on the planet and it is predicted to go up to 50 billion by 2020. As the number of connected devices are exploding, so do their innovative applications in healthcare and well being, self-driving cars, smart homes and everyday life. While they promise several valuable benefits to us, IoT applications raise a few major concerns about our privacy online, security, impact of failure and hacking, and legal issues. This special panel will shed light on this emerging IoT landscape. It will address both the bright and dark sides of the IoT, technology developments, application innovations and the issues that we have to tackle to make it sustainable and safe.
