If you haven't voted for the Google Impact awards yet, please consider voting for the BCCHF.

Pneumonia is the #1 killer of kids under the age of 5 worldwide, and BCCHF's Pocket Doc for Pneumonia is a smartphone app designed to help clinicians in remote areas and developing countries to diagnose pneumonia and save kids' lives.

We're down to the final week - please #VoteBCCHF

Gah! I just got a notification that my Pre-ordered copy of Mass Effect Andromeda was not going to arrive on the guaranteed delivery date (i.e. today). Needless to say, I cancelled the order.

So the question is - do I go buy a copy on the way home, do I buy a digital download copy, or do I scrap ME altogether and get Horizon instead??

I'm having a difficult time staying optimistic for Andromeda tonight.
It's starting to look like I should have bet on Horizon, which kinda looked like Tomb Raider-meets-Evolve at first blush, and so I'll admit I may have discounted it a bit too hastily. Trying to keep an open mind, but I can't be the only one inundated with screen shots of hinky ME:A animations.

I just hope this isn't on the "Phantom Menace" disappointment scale.

Rescuing this from a private share.
This is a video made by a 16-year with a beautiful perspective. Worth a watch.

Me: First day of Spring? Yessss!!

More and more frequently, I find myself thinking that a game studio should come up with a new game where instead of fighting, players just hang out and chill at a park, or on the beach, or maybe in a food court. Instead of having bad guys, characters in the game are just really nice to each other, no matter what socioeconomic class or gender or ethnicity they are. Maybe instead of boss fights at the end of each stage, there's a potluck or someone gives you a hug.

I, for one, like to play games as means to escape from the real world, and I think we could all use a break from real people acting like the stereotypical 'video game bad guys' for a while.

It's not often that I long to be back in the Big Smoke, but man, I wish I was there to see this.
