Please don't invite me to your community....

It simply isn't a part of my purpose with the plus and I will not join... and while we are at it:

Honestly google... if you offer an option in settings, please make sure it actually works... Pretty sure I "updated" my settings so I won't get notified of people circling me, or inviting me to communities.... TWICE... or more... and well, yeah...

Contemplating adding another furry four legged friend to our lil family... hoping the kittehs are more hospitable than this one...

Are there any particular dog breeds more likely to get along with cats?

I came across an intriguing thread today and wanted to share it with all of you too! Well, the essence at least:

Share 3 pieces of advice that you would want to share to the youth or better yet your kids.

1) Your dad's a little crazy... and that's okay, so is your mum, and most likely, so are you! Crazy is simply a label. Learn to make peace with labels, stick em on like stickers or peel em off like an old band aid, underneath it all you are still you.

2) Believe that love is forever, and forever you will be in love. Just remember that does not mean "forever you will be married"... marriage takes willingness and work from both sides to keep it strong... and sometimes divorce happens, see it as a label... underneath it all you are still crazy lovable you...

3) Get good at being good! Don't worry too much about being a good math student, a good architect, good doctor or good whatever you think you'll be when you grow up... Just work from a place of integrity, doing a good job at whatever job you are working at and you'll find your way you crazy lovable kid!

Really google?! Really?!

So in case you haven't noticed in the past however many months I haven't been all that active on the plusverse... damn Earl's been keepin me on my toes this past year for sure!

And so I get a wee bit out of sorts not staying on top of all the new doodads and thingamajigs on the plus... but I am 100% sure last time I logged in.... last month perhaps? I turned off that silleh "notify me cuz some random plusser circled me" and the "notify me when some random plusser creates a community and invites me" shiznit... but what do I find in my notifications?!

Frickin community invite this, so n so circled you that and a few fun ones of people sharing random shit so I click to mute the plusser and oh wait, I already did! But google thinks it might be a good idea to unmute them.... :-/

WTF goog?! WTF?!

oh, and a bunch of uber cool notify posts from the ever amazing +Kimberly Chapman  of course.... ;-) Thanks for keepin the notifies tolerable and entertaining! Not to mention informative!

For many, Samhain has always been a time to prepare for winter and honor our ancestors.  The demonization came about as a religion spread itself by picking parts of a culture to agree with and then cast the rest as "evil".

Worship a tree?  OK - we will make the tree Sacred and now you are worshiping OUR God - yours is a backward, evil God and ours is SO much better.  And those who don't agree are obviously possessed by the evil spirits and must be called out and punished.

I am glad that you have found out a bit of the history of Samhain, but there is a LOT more to it than a fun way to avoid commercialization.  For many of us it is a Sabbat that is a special time for worship.  Looking at it that way, we tend to be a bit upset that people make light of it, much the  way some folks feel that Christmas is not properly representing the birth of their savior.

But that is another hijacked holiday, and the fodder for another post.

Please continue to explore and learn about the Old Ways.  You might find a lot more things that you like  - but you will definitely learn about things like Yule and Beltane (May Day) and other celebrations that you know about in a different context!

Blessed Be, and Blessed Samhain!

I'm back to carving out my own quiet space in the undeveloped basement and thinking I love this look for a drop ceiling! Hang some christmas lights on a dimmer switch, then drape some pashminas between me and them... tada! So simple, and so personalizable! Perhaps some colour shall make it to my new ceilling... What colour would you "paint" your ceiling?

What's the last thing you did for your physical health?

Introduction
I am not here to promote, sell, advise or brainwash you. I simply am...

While in G+ land I am usually comfortable dabbling in banter about alternatives to mainstream/government managed *health care* treatments, overall body *wellness*/care/maintenance, *spirituality*/morality/*ethics* and "secret" *recipes* for all sorts of interesting things. Not so secret once we start discussing them!

I am usually more interested in taking in information, and engaging in conversations started by others, than I am in sharing information and beginning conversations. Aka I comment more than I post... _Although when notifications get fubared that tends to get reversed so I can maintain a presence in threads_

You will not see my circles for several reasons, my privacy; other's right to privacy and because I believe in quality, not quantity.

Expect sporadic updates, punctuated by periods of inactivity. As in, I do not have this account connected to a smartphone so if I haven't responded to your message in the most timely manner, please do not assume I am ignoring you.

Since you are still reading, here's my chance to stand on a *soapbox* for a second. At times I aim to provide more opportunity for informed opinions. The vast majority of Google+ seems quite enamored with "real" names and pictures. *What is real anyways?* That I'm sure we could banter about in a thread, although for now I'll just show my support for people like Meirav Berale and say not all nom de plumes result in a degradation of comments and discussion... A lot more insight on this topic can be found at: http://geekfeminism.wikia.com/wiki/Who_is_harmed_by_a_%22Real_Names%22_policy%3F

I am now involved in a creative *writing* project and exploring the process of self publishing...

I post public sometimes to say hi on neutralish threads... then bump people up the ladder of trust in various directions, depending on your tolerance for profanity, artistic nudity, meaningly spiritual/religious discussions, "citation needed" health/wellness related discussions, and putting up with my whining about Earl... Earl can be a bit of a dick some days, but I still love 'em ;-)
