I'm concerned the constant TV coverage of the US snow storms maybe causing Jack to panic unnecessarily........

I can't think of any other comment more appropriate than.... WOW!

The Independent: Cycling: 102-year-old Frenchman Robert Marchand beats own world record. http://google.com/producer/s/CBIw9c3krhA
Most centenarians find it difficult to walk but age has not slowed down 102-year-old French cyclist Robert Marchand, who has broken his own world record.

Xmas dinner is on in the kitchen and Jack is banished. Then he is invited in for his turkey. Between picture two and picture four there was only 9 seconds, I kid you not. Merry Xmas Jack.

I usually hold off diving into a review based on one visit. We've now been five times since early April. We went there again today, taking some friends for lunch. Quiet for a Sunday, but it is the Bank Holiday weekend. I have some regular haunts in Cheshire where the food is good and we can take the dog but honestly, this place is a cut above. The food is delicious, well presented with generous helpings. I would say the menu is slightly higher in price than average but then the quality of the ingredients and the service make it money well spent. What a pleasure to go out for a meal where you are not expected to be constantly up and down to the bar to order food or more drinks. The staff have without exception been excellent, always attentive but not intrusive. The seating is comfortable and the tables clean and tidy. There looks to be an excellent outside seating area at the back, but unfortunately the weather so far this year has meant each trip we've been inside. Overall I give this place top marks. My favourite eat-out pub of the moment, and the dog is welcome too, which is a bonus.

Easy access, lots of parking and the free gym access is a winner. This is a full gym suite and very large pool with sauna and steam. Can get busy at weekends with functions. I've stayed over 30 nights in the past 4 months. Same staff there throughout, which is a good sign. Very few negative issues to report. Ocassional minor gripes were put right by the staff promptly. All you can eat buffet breakfast is plentiful and the bar is a good bet for an evening meal. Although drinks are pricey the bar food menu is good value and a better bet than the dining room. Old comment about wi-fi must be outdated as I've always had high speed both up and down in the room. Overall, can't really fault the place.

Pitched up on spec, with the dog who was most welcome. Nicely laid out. Excellent roast pork and ceasar salad as main courses with fabulous desserts. Reasonable prices for a memorable meal. Staff friendly and efficient. Certainly on the list for a second visit.

easily accesible on main route into Manchester from the south. Prices usually very competitive as the cheap Asda station is only one mile further down the road. Shop well stocked and staff friendly.
