Had dinner recently for my birthday. Extremely disappointed in the service. Although the waitress was very nice the service was extra slow and lacking When asked if we would like more of the vegies etc to dip we received one small cup for four people and that was it. My niece ordered a chocolate fondue and it was for her and her three year and four year old, but the chocolate was only enough for one person and they charged her for three people and never brought any of the extra desserts for dipping that the waitress said she would bring. Salads have become so small, what's the point? Spent a lot of money for very little. My recommendation is have dinner in the bar. They are more generous and the service is far better.

I don't understand why this has a low rating. The people where very nice. We didn't make a reservation because of the ratting but they were booked solid we manages to get a table in the bar. The food was very good and all though it might sound high in price it really isn't, I'm mean seriously your getting a appetizer, salad, dinner and desert for $40-$50 a person. Not bad a time all. I will say there alcohol beverages are higher then most. My lemon drop martini was $13. But really the food was great and the service was great. It takes about 2 hrs to go through all courses. I suggest making a reservation. Someone said that it smelled and your clothes stink. I have a sensitive nose and yes you can smell the food but it wasn't that bad. It smelled pretty good, definitely not greasy (fast food smells way worse) and my clothes didn't smell either I even set them aside and double check in the morning. You want a low light romantic dinner where you can talk and enjoy eating at your own pace then go. They have valet parking or street parking.

I was addicted to the Melting Pot Happy Hour (to the tune of 4 or 5 visits a week) back in 2004. While I am glad to have gotten past that phase (variety is healthy), I still enjoy the Melting Pot for one of the most unique and delicious happy hours in town. From 4:30-630pm and 9-11pm they offer half off all of the dessert fondues and cheese fondues. That's a great deal. Check it out.

The food, service and wine list are always great. We dine here often. Another reason we like it is because we always received a Military Discount. The last time we dined, they said they do NOT honor the discount any longer. We are VERY DISAPPOINTED by this. We will not dine here as often anymore because of this (we usually go once a month in the dining room as well as once a month Happy Hour in the bar). My husband really felt let down when he heard this! After 26 years of military service and four Middle East deployments.... He want's to say, thanks Melting Pot Tacoma, disappointed by your decision on this........

Fondue restaurants are a bit of a gimmick, but these guys work it without turning it into a theme park. The chocolate options are universally excellent and, for the most part, stay on the tasteful side of the line, which is impressive since it would be easy to veer into weirdness by licensing popular candy brands like some restaurants do with deserts. The cheeses are good, though not terribly adventurous. All of the dippers (sweet or not) are high-quality and tasty. The drinks are quite good. I like the blueberry mojito (don't judge me). Excellent staff. Tip well.

The service was fine. The food was fair. Too expensive for what you get. This can be fun with a group, but it is definitely a once every 10 to 15 years place. I hate leaving a restaurant smelling like the food you were cooking. Your clothes will reek when you leave. Dessert is their best item.

Went to Melting Pot 8/28/12 for bachelorette party with 12 to 13 people. For the $20/person (Cheese/Appetizers & Chocolate) & the MANDATORY 20% gratuity (that computes to $4.00/person) we received food that was good (not exceptional) & absolutely NO SERVICE. The waitstaff never came back after delivering the invoice(s). There was never any inquiry whether we would like a refill/new beverage (everybody had 1 drink) or any inquiry if we would like anything else. My family will not be returning & will be very quick to recount our experience to anybody who asks about The Melting Pot. By the way, this was not our first visit (full dinner); our first experience led me to believe that "Cheese & Chocolate" would be a better value't--it wasn't.
