We sat outside at the bar that faces the inter coastal waterway on Aug 7, 2014. The ONLY good thing about this place is the view. It is fine if you want to get a drink at the bar yourself and look at the view before having dinner at a better restaurant. If you are looking for somewhere to sit down and have a nice dinner and fine service while experiencing the view, this is not the place. Their service was poor. Took about 15 minutes to get a beer after ordering it and had to go hunt down the waitress to remind her we did not get our drinks. We ordered a couple appetizers to split and the food was horrible. For a place right on the water, I thought the seafood would be great but I was wrong. We got the calamari, crab and shrimp dip, and buffalo shrimp to split. The calamari was very breaded and not much taste. The rings were tiny; it felt like you were only eating the breading. The crab and shrimp dip was served cold, came in two plastic ramekins that you would normally have dipping sauce in, and was served with Mexican tortilla chips. You could actually tell the dip had sat in those containers for a while because the top had a film on it like it had not been stirred in a while. The buffalo shrimp was not bad but for $10.25 I could have put Texas Pete on shrimp and made it a lot better than that. Needless to say, IF we go back to this place, it will be for a drink and the view before we go somewhere better for dinner. We will not be back to eat, we did not leave happy. Oh and, my fiancé has been showing signs of food poisoning. He has been on and off the toilet for hours now. Definitely from their food, not good.

Me an and my wife always eat here when we go on the casino boat. The all you can eat flounder and shrimp are delicious quick turn around time, and the staff is awesome would recommend to anyone, ever time im down that way i make it a point to stop in. If you are swanky and dont like fried food its not for you, but if you like a good atmosphere and fresh local seafood you cant get any better.

Was expecting much better seafood being this place is right on the water. Although the staff was super friendly, our waiter was overwhelmed and forgetful. The fried shrimp was seriously over cooked and like rubber, the hush puppies were over cooked as well. The flounder sandwich wasn't anything special and the fries had no flavor. The wait for food and drinks was nearly an hour. We will definitely not be going back.

My family had a very bad experience here in July 2014. Food & service was AWFUL. We asked to have the manager come to our table to discuss our meal but he would not show his face. My husband actually got up and went into the restaurant (we were sitting on the outside deck) to look for him. He was behind the bar and would not acknowledge my husband. My husband is a chef at a very high end restaurant in Charleston SC and when he goes out to eat he expects a certain standard in the food. And if asked - for the manager to have the guts to come to the table of his patrons. My husband was basically told by this person - "Go back to Charleston then" !!!!! He was then told to leave and pushed out of the restaurant by an inside server. On top of that - the waitress/server that we had at our table told us - "Ya know - I am tired of you all - just go and "I" will pay for your dinner" .. well that was the last straw. She said this in front of all the other patrons on the deck. We got up and left and will never be back. Don't waste your time on their GREASY fried food (Calamari that looked like it was connected by rubber bands) and the fish that they serve with the black skin still on it. Awful looking ! They don't seem to care about keeping people coming back or the owner needs to hire employees that care about his/her business. I recommend Derbsters in Calabash. Great food and a fun place.

Looking for an authentic, "by the boats," seafood restaurant on the Grand Strand? Looking for one that actually cooks and serves LOCAL seafood rather than Gulf seafood (or Thailand seafood)? This is it! It's rustic and plain ... and absolutely amazing! Any dish you order will be terrific! Their clam chowder is fabulous! And their desserts are pretty good too!

Fried fried and fried again. Nice view. Nice people. Line out the door pretty early for a Saturday. Menu seems small and doesn't really point you toward fresh/local fare. Had the flounder on recommendation of server. Probably should have gone with salmon.
