I thought we'd plan a well-in-advance Thanksgiving weekeend here, but the website wasn't taking reservations as early as I needed to lock down those I sent an email to the reservation department requesting a return email or phone call to set up the dates and get a rate quote. I got no response whatsoever. Thanksgiving has been planned and reserved elsewhere.

The professionalism of this hotel needs to be reviewed by the owners. It is a fact that to pull a firer alarm anywhere is a felony. To have one pulled in a hotel of this caliber and not be told it is a false alarm until one has to run downstairs to the front desk in complete panic is not right. Manager Jamie Smith was not only insensitive to my explanation of how upsetting this event was to me, having lived through a firer with my family. She felt not need to compensate in anyway. A cup of tea would of been fine. Very unprofessional as a manager.

We went to the Sagamore for a wedding. We were quoted one rate and when we arrived at the hotel we received a higher quote and by the time we left, we where charged an even higher rate ($100 difference) but what shocked me the most, was the lack of service we received. It was below medioker at best. The staff was unprofessional, the food was not great but very expensive. My best advice to you is not to stay at this hotel but if you have to, check your bill and eat elsewhere.

The decision to have the hotel open on the weekends only during the winter definitely leaves the guest with the impression that they are just doing everything half-ass. The run out of food, don't have staples like bread or dinner rolls when asked. They make you check in late on Friday, even though they have been closed all week and the rooms are ready. They also make you check out at noon on Sunday, even though they are closed all week? They have a shuttle that drives you when you are staying in the lodges, which can sometimes be far from the main hotel. Guess what..on Sunday they don't have a shuttle! The rooms in the main hotel are unbelievable loud. Be prepared to feel as though your living with another family, and forget sleeping in, even normal people speaking at a normal level are heard from down the hall. All of this screams poor management and a lack of thought for the customer. They want to charge high prices but the Sagamore is really a three star hotel wanting to be more. Why in the world they wouldn't take advantage of the full weekend I just don't understand. Make it a perk that you can come in early on Friday and check out at 4:00 on Saturday? Get your damn staff to stay a little longer. When we requested a late check out they said the best they could do was 12:00pm because "the hotel was closing." Nothing like feeling like your being rushed out! Doesn't make sense.

My husband and I just spent a wonderful afternoon at the Ice Bar. We met friends and had a spectacular day. The ice sculptures were breathtaking. The staff was professional and friendly. We are marking the calendar for next year!!
