On November 8, 2013, a devastating typhoon hit the Philippines. Dr. Shigeki Aono worked as part of the Japan Self-Defense Force’s emergency medical team to disinfect the area and vaccinate residents. Watch this heartwarming video and discover how “Operation Sangkay” (meaning “friend” in the local language) provided vital disaster relief to the local people, helping foster friendships between the people of Japan and the Philippines.
