"...we’re not here just to serve coffee – we hope that people might come to know the Saviour.” Read the story of Trinity Road Chapel's café over on our website.
Putting time and resources into running a café won’t work for every church. But where you are in a busy urban area with people passing all day long it can be a great tool for gospel outreach. Phil Topham’s been to visit the coffee shop at Trinity Road Chapel in Wandsworth, London.

It’s always a joy to hear about the ways our churches are reaching out with the gospel. This week we’ll round up some stories from the Easter weekend as churches held mission events and baptism services.

This year we’ve organised 14 day conferences for pastors and their wives looking at prayer. Joyful Not Dutiful is a chance for those in pastoral ministry to reflect on their personal prayer lives. Ashley Jones went along to the latest conference in Birmingham.

"What did matter was seeing God at work helping my new friend to a point when she would turn to me with a huge smile one afternoon and say: 'Now I understand what it’s all about.'”
One of the ways that God is reaching people in our culture is through friendship evangelism. It’s slow growth but the Holy Spirit is at work – particularly when a Christian begins to read the Bible with a non-Christian friend. Here Val Wells explains how she used evangelistic resource The Word One to One as she read John’s Gospel with a non-Christian.

More than 200 women gathered in Wrexham, North Wales for the sixth annual North Wales Women’s Conference in March. Phil Topham has been finding out more.
Christian women often lead busy lives with multiple responsibilities. So, since 2011, one of our churches has organised a women’s day-conference – designed to spiritually refresh and encourage women in evangelical churches in North Wales.

Our 2014/2015 data survey, which gathered information from churches affiliated to FIEC, highlighted some changes – not least about the way we serve God on Sundays. So we asked four pastors to share their reasons for their current Sunday programmes.

"After seeing two people become Christians and welcoming 20 others onto a seekers’ course one thing is clear for Above Bar Church in Southampton: mission weeks are still a great tool for reaching out with the gospel."
A lot of our evangelism happens one-to-one as we share the gospel with friends and neighbours in our everyday lives. Above Bar Church in Southampton are equipping their members for these opportunities but have also seen folk saved through a mission week as Phil Topham has been finding out.
