Some helpful guidance from Dr Peter Saunders.
MPs will debate assisted dying in September when Parliament returns to the House of Commons after the summer recess. What does the Bible have to say about this issue and what should our response be as Christians? Dr Peter Saunders is Chief Executive of Christian Medical Fellowship (CMF) and offers us a Biblical perspective.

How can the gospel be shared with this rapidly growing, but often spiritually neglected, section of our society? Are traditional hymns and reading from the King James Version the best option – or is there another way?

6,000 people live in the town of Buckhaven in Fife but 98% of them don’t have any contact with a local church. Burdened by these statistics, former Baptist minister Peter Carr started leading Buckhaven Community Church in January – a new café-style church plant recognised by FIEC. Six months in, the church has seen people saved and is now leasing a shop to make this gospel work more visible.

"It’s marvellous when a conference empowers and refreshes Christian workers. It never occurred to me that Thrive could also be relaxing, but that is what it turned out to be!"
Before attending Thrive – our conference for women in vocational ministry – Genevieve Jennings didn’t know what to expect. Here she explains how God answered her prayers and helped her to enjoy the time away with other female church workers who gathered in Worcestershire in May.

The aim of the 'All in the Family' series is to explore the breadth of belief and practice that exists amongst FIEC churches on matters that our Doctrinal Basis doesn’t touch on and yet are important in church life.
The views of a pastor who believes the Christian Sabbath should be observed as part of God's eternal moral law. This is the first of three articles on the subject of the Sabbath as part of our “All in the Family” series.

How can we make sure that the best support is available for pastors and their families? Earlier in May, Pastoral Ministries Director Richard Underwood gathered a group of FIEC pastors in Derbyshire to think and pray about how we can encourage greater support networks for church leaders. He explains how they got on.

At Cornerstone Church in Nottingham, Kathryn Jackson has been organising special outreach events for women. These evangelistic craft evenings are often sold-out as so many Christian women invite their friends along, so we asked Kathryn to explain how it all works.

"I can’t see the situation with family breakdown and poverty improving any time soon so I think the need for our type of ministry will exist for many years to come. My hope for SixtyEightFive is that we can help train and resource other churches in working class areas to reach their communities with the gospel."
How do we reach some of the toughest estates in the country with the gospel? David Binder introduces us to SixtyEightFive – a ministry aimed at reaching those in fatherless families in Middlesbrough.

Mark Selby is an elder at Grace Church in Hilton, a small plant just outside Derby. He’s passionate about seeing new churches in areas where there is no gospel witness. To that end, he’s encouraging us to think about joining churches in places with smaller populations and taking a risk for Christ. Here’s the story of how Grace Church was launched in 2013.
