Thursdays' Fact or Myth: Children With Crossed Eyes Can Be Treated

Fact! Children are not able to outgrow strabismus -- the medical term for crossed eyes -- on their own but, with help, it can be more easily corrected at a younger age. That's why it is important for your child to have an eye exam early.

Been coming here for a couple of years and have never had any issues. Staff is nice and make it very easy to notify you about appointments or statuses on your glasses through email or SMS. Nice selection of top name brands, picked up two pairs of glasses and one pair of sunglasses this year with free adjustments. If you want to save extra money, wait for when they offer groupon deals.

I took my daughter to this office back in July or August of 2015. There were only 2 staff members in the whole office that were decent, pleasant and professional. That was the man that helped my daughter learn to wear her contacts and the woman who I assume is the office manager. The young lady that helped us prior to the optometrist coming behaved as though 1. She would rather be somewhere else instead of there and 2. Like she couldn't care less that my daughter and I were spending our insurance companies money there. She quoted my benefits incorrectly and then treated me as though I couldn't afford the price for contacts until I asked her again to look at the insurance benefits. She changed her tone, slightly, for the better, after that. She explained about needing to pay a higher copay if when the doctor performs the exam he determines that there's a need for the higher copay. I believe she said an astigmatism. My daughter has worn glasses her entire life and has NEVER been told that she has an astigmatism until then. The doctor's personality was not any better. He definitely came across as having the personality of his practice will not suffer or improve if he has my business or not. I am new to Las Vegas and not very familiar with doctors in town. I chose Pearle Vision because of their reputation but this one. ..nope. Not nice people.

Exam was fine. The employees didn't seem happy to be there or didn't have much knowledge of what was going on. My insurance covers glasses (lenses and frames) so when we were done we had a small selection of what we could choose from and were told we were going to have to pay for the lenses. ?? They ended up charging my son's father close to 200 dollars. Now I'm asking them to fax my son's prescription to the new office I'm at and they said they can't. ?? They won't fax my son's prescription, this place is ridiculous and constantly is trying to upsell.

Worst experience I've ever had with any company. First, they tell me they don't know how my insurance works. I wait 30 minutes. They don't tell me anything. I go up and ask them if they figured it out. The girl tells me she's waiting for some unspecified person. I ask for the number, call the girl, she says my insurance has been verified for half an hour. Awesome start. I wait another 30 minutes to be called in. Wait forever for the doctor. In this time, it is clear that no one has any idea what's going on and are not communicating with each other in any way. I tell them I want contacts. They tell me I can have either contacts or glasses. I say I want glasses then. They come back and tell me I'd be better off getting contacts since my insurance pays for a year supply. Awesome. I say give me those then. So to get contacts I have to learn to put them in. Fine. But some guy comes in and tells me I have ten minutes and then they have to schedule another appointment for me. I'm pissed. I've already been here for two hours and they're kicking me out because THEY are slow. I ask him if I can just take my prescription and go. He says no. I have to do the try in. I get upset because I've just wasted two hours and can't get a prescription. They let me finish. Get them in finally. I go to the front and the same guy tells me that the contacts will cost 164 bucks. I tell him that I was told they were covered. At this point I'm furious because I told the girl it was the cost of the contacts that made me want the glasses and she told me they were covered. He tells me that the girls are new and it's not his fault because he can't turn himself into five people. So I say fine, just let me pay for the exam. 54 bucks. They told me it was 34. Again, not his fault. Worst business ever.

Great staff. The eye doctor I saw was excellent. I was the last patient of the day and he didn't rush. And the gentleman that fitted me for my glasses was top notch.

If able to give negative stars I would. The 1 star is because I have to. The worst customer service from Pearle Vision that if I didn't already pay and needed glasses I would have gone elsewhere. The young latin man in the front is sooo rude and needs to have customer service training courses. I called and when I asked if my glasses were ready he said "Sir the day is not over" as the day came to an end I still never received a call. Then the next day waited again for a call still, no call. I finally went in and my glasses were ready the whole time. He just didnt follow up or even look into my glasses. Next year I will not return if he is still there.
