It was okay... I had coconut & chocolate with raspberries flavour and it wasn't as good as I've tasted in other places in the world. It's a nice place to visit near the pantheon

A fun spot, but living in Rome for six months I've managed to find a half dozen places with similar qualities, but better gelato. If you want unique flavors and excellent ice cream, try Frigidarium. Bar St. Calisto offers the same quality ice cream with a better atmosphere at 40% the price.

There is a trick to buying gelato at La Palma (and this goes for most gelaterie in Rome). Go to the cash register first (la cassa). Pick out the size of the cone (il cono) or cup (la coppa)--from one to three scoops [the sizes are posted behind the cashier]. Then take your receipt (lo scontrino) and go to the counter and decide what flavours you want. Then put a €1.00 coin on the scontrino, so that the barrista will see it. And you will be served promptly or, at least, asap. When you order, do not forget to say -per favore-; and when you get your cone, -grazie-. (When in Rome!). For a small cup, you are entitled to three flavours. Some people like the chocolate & vanilla. I myself am mad for the fruit: lemon (limone), blackberry (more), apricot (albicocca), strawberry (fràgola), but be adventurous. There may be basil (basilico), rose petal (rosa), and all sorts of exotic fruit. Not too sugary, the frutta will set your tastebuds dancing! Trust me, this is the best gelato in Rome (in my experience of living there for nine years).

Ok ice cream but very rude service. Had to wait 10 minutes with my ticket while the rude guy stacked cones with his back to me and others. That's after buying the ticket from the rude cashier. Take your money to one of the many other gelateries. They don't want your business.
