mercurial-server and hg extensions
Are you using mercurial-server for shared-ssh based hg hosting? Do you want to use extensions such as largefiles and projrc? If so, you may be very familiar with the error message "ssh://hg@hostname/repo does not appear to be a largefile store". I spent mor...

Demonstrating GCC's signed int overflow optimization bug is non-conforming

Yesterday I spent almost 4 hours trying to get my terminal windows (including via ssh and screen) to show the current executing process in the title. Apparently this is much more difficult than it should be. Screen's shelltitle didn't want to work for me at all, and BASH doesn't have a preexec hook, only a hook just before showing the command prompt. (C'mon BASH! Isn't it about time to add some new features?)

In the end, I managed to find it can be done by hooking BASH's DEBUG signal. Figuring it out and getting it working is a bit of a pain, but I found someone who had done the dirty work already. I can't find the original page anymore, so I've uploaded it to https://gist.github.com/Drakonite/5222518 so that hopefully others can find it more easily in the future.

I've been a bit addicted to Kerbal Space Program lately. Designing and building ships, launching them in to space, watching them blow up or fail to reach orbit and crash on to the planet, figuring out how to make them not blow up nor crash... For someone with an engineering mindset it is quite fun.

Mods are half the fun, and after running in to issues due to limitations of some parts I decided to spend an hour or two to make my own.

S.M.R.T. Tech Avionics [ http://goo.gl/BfUyY ] -- New versions of the two ASAS and avionics package parts which can be enabled/disabled independently via right-click or action groups. It turns out that effects from ASAS units stack, which causes problems when you're building ships designed to split in to multiple ships, or docking multiple ships together.
