Are you breaking out on your back?

Acne occurs in any area of the skin with hair follicles, meaning that all hair-bearing areas of the skin are susceptible to acne breakouts. Aside from the most common area of the face, one of the areas that often develops pimples is the back. This form of acne affects more than half of all acne sufferers and can be not only an aesthetic concern, but also extremely uncomfortable and painful.

Ways to treat Bacne:

• Chemical Peels: When it comes to back acne, peels have proved to give wonderful results as it sloughs off the topmost layer of dead and damaged skin to help healthier, fresher skin cells to form that are not clogged.

• Microdermabrasion sessions: This deep exfoliation procedure will help in clearing out the clogged pores forming blackheads, whiteheads or acne.

• Laser treatment to safely and effectively treat acne and acne scars. The laser emits gentle pulses of energy that penetrate deep enough in the skin to shrink oil glands and decrease their capacity to produce acne without affecting the oils necessary for healthy skin.

• Topical Prescription Medications: When treating back acne, topical medications are typically used in combination with other acne treatments for fast and effective results. Dr. Deepti recommends using a product that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.

• Oral Antibiotics: Antibiotics are helpful in decreasing inflammation and the over-abundance of bacteria associated with back acne. However, they must be taken only on the basis of your dermatologist’s prescription.

Quick Hairtip !

First rinse your hair with slight warm or cold water this will help to wash off the color easily. Use a herbal or mild shampoo and conditioner while washing the colors off your hair. Make sure it is paraben and SLS free.

We suggest you use a deep conditioner mask prior to washing your hair.
• Olive oil-1/2 tbsp.
• Coconut oil-1 tbsp.
• Honey – 1 tsp
• yogurt – 1 tsp

Make a mixture of these ingredients and leave it for 1 hour and wash your hair. Hair will not only be thoroughly washed but will also be smooth, shiny and soft.

It's time to gear up for the most vibrant festival of the year.

The joy of being drenched in hues of blue, pink and yellow colors is above all. However, there's no denying the fact that most Holi colors these days are made using chemicals that can damage your hair and skin to a great extent. These chemicals could turn out to be extremely dangerous and might penetrate the top layers of your skin, causing rashes and acne breakouts.

Hence, it is of utmost importance to take proper care of your hair and skin before you head out to play Holi.

- Make a mixture with coconut oil, castor oil and olive oil and apply it all over your body before heading out to play holi.
- Make sure to wear sunscreen and avoid any makeup.
- You can use a zinc-based barrier cream to hydrate your skin. This cream prevents minor skin irritations and burns caused by harmful colors.
- Oil your hair and tie it in a bun/ponytail/braid to protect the colors to seep in between your hair strands.
- Wear a bandana for extra protection from colors and sun damage.
- Apply Vaseline on your lips and your nails.
- Apply a coat of your nail polish to avoid colors to come in direct contact with your nails.
- Apply almond oil beneath your eyes and protect them with sunglasses.
- Dehydration causes the skin to dry and combined with harsh chemicals, the color can seep deeper into your skin. So Keep yourself hydrated by drinking water, juices, and glucose.

Stay tuned to know about our favorite body mist that you should keep handy on Holi!

With Holi knocking at our doorsteps, we must gear up to start prepping our skin to take the harsh colors. Here is a fantastic recipe of olive oil body mist (as promised in our previous post) that you can keep handy during Holi to constantly hydrate your skin and provide a barrier for the colors to seep in.

• Take equal quantities of olive oil and water and store it in a spray bottle which has a tight cap on top.
• Shake it well and then spray it on your hands, feet and other dry parts of body.
• Give yourself a nice massage for 4-5 minutes.

What’s more is that this body mist can also be used as a hand cream for regular use post holi celebrations. All you have to do is massage the olive oil into your hands and cuticle area to get strong and healthy nails. Slightly mist a small amount on freshly washed hair to add softness and shine.
(Woah.. multiple benefits)
