Win One of 5 Hurricane Canless Air Systems!

Hey folks, you can thank +Marc Wenning for this one!  He asked me about the Hurricane +Canless Air System so I reached out to them and got one to try.  Here's a video interview with their CEO - who donated 5 units for giveaways!  Here's how you can win one...

1) Do you have me in a Circle? Great. If you win I can contact you. :-)
2) Circle +Canless Air System
3) Publicly reshare this post.

That's it!  On Monday we'll pick some winners and the Hurricane guys will ship 'em out.  (For now, this is only open to folks in the US and Canada.  Sorry my International friends! We keep looking for contests for you guys!!!)

yes, yes, everybody's on the RIP Steve Jobs wagon, and I too share the sentiment. However, was anybody truly surprised that he passed away?

A thought provoking photo-essay/social commentary on the Web 2.0/Social Networking space.

Many of you know that I've become very health conscious as of the past few years, as a preventative measure to counter some of the things I may be susceptible to thanks to my family history, as well as to maintain an overall positive state of personal wellness.

With that in mind, I would like to share this speech given by Ann Cooper a few years ago at the EG Conference (very similar to TED) on the current state of quality, or the lack thereof, in school lunches. Her speech is very profound & thought provoking, and one that I feel all parents in the US should watch. Feel free to pass this along to other parents that you know.

I can't imagine anyone actually being surprised by this latest development in the webOS saga. I've said from Day 1 that webOS was doomed for obsolescence.

Paul, did you ever use WebOS? I rocked a Pre for a long time. It had a lot of good qualities, but like all tech, it's evolve or die, and first Palm and later HP just couldn't keep up. With that being said, WebOS did the following things better than any competing OS's from Day 1 (or very soon thereafter), and the other OSs still haven't caught up:
Notification system
Multitasking/Card System
Texting/Chat OS integration
Mod/Homebrew capabilities (unintentional, I'm sure)
Profile/settings cloud synchronization (including re-installing previously installed apps automatically, Google is hot on the heels of this)

The system failed at ease-of-use and learning curve, Palm lagged at getting out new devices, and the existing devices had awful hardware, and while the "web language only" development was cool in theory, it made for a great deal of crappily built applications and the inability to produce applications that could actually do anything useful on the device. When I had it, there wasn't even a VNC or RDP client worth installing, and that should be relatively easy.

Either way, I'm sad to see it die, and I hope that some of the other platform developers take lessons from what this system's capabilities.
