This is your best work so far. Challenging yet simplistic. Nice lighting too.

Part of my family lives in the UK (my uncle moved to Scotland in the 70s), and from my experiences with UK apartments, I totally buy this infographic. If you live in the US, imagine living in a third the space you do now!

Well Ira I'm American and both when I lived there and here, we've only ever had one TV in the house... Got 4 kids. In fact, here we had no TV for many years cuz I didn't want to pay the BBC for crud:-)

Pechaflickrleague entry number 1.

Using +Alan Levine awesome pechaflickr http://pechaflickr.cogdogblog.com/ as inspiration, I've gone ahead and tried to do a livestream using 'livestream procaster' of a random presentation. Topic chosen using a flickr call out for ideas...

my gauntlet, i have dropped it. http://livestre.am/RSyd
slides. Can you improv? Enter a tag, and see how well you can make sense of 20 random flickr photos (or any other number), each one on screen for 20 seconds. pechaflickr = the sound of flickring. pech...

Off to a JISC event to talk to a slightly daunting group of expert researchers about our Visitors and Residents project. It's investigating what motivates learners to engage with the web for their studies and what kind of literacies they are forming...

+George Roberts I'm going to leave plenty of time for discussion. Some of what I have to say you will have heard in a slightly different form at the Brookes Teaching and Learning conference.

Social/educational media researcher working at the University of Oxford
Introduction
I work in the overlapping space between education, academia and technology. This involves co-managing Technology-Assisted Lifelong Learning (TALL), an award winning elearning research and development group in the University of Oxford.

In 2007 I released some of the first data on what was then called ‘web 2.0’ platforms which included diagrams with ‘social’, ‘studying’ and ‘professional’ nestling alongside each other to highlight out how these boundaries are blurring. I have also  researched the wild frontiers of Virtual Worlds and Massively Multiplayer Online games in the context of teaching and learning. More recently I have been closely involved in the work of the HEFCE Online Learning Task Force.

Alongside overseeing the creation and delivery of over 50 online distance courses I am currently the Creative Director of the ‘Maths in the City’ project working with Professor Marcus du Sautoy. He is also leading a study of the use/reuse of Open Educational Resources and research into what motivates learners to engage with the web based around his Digital Visitors & Digital Residents principle.

I'm apparently an engaging speaker and have presented at numerous conferences and workshops. I'm keen to see beyond the technology to the larger underlying trends that are emerging as society moves online. Visit the TALL blog for some of my (fairly) recent thoughts, or follow my thinking as ideas occur to me: @daveowhite.
