Last Friday I mentioned work I was doing on a general-purpose cross-platform 3D API for my side project.
I'm happy to report that I've added Stage3D support to the API, which completes the Flash/JS/Native trifecta as far as rendering is concerned.
I'm using some code that Ronan Sandford contributed to NME; he and I think it would be better to develop an OpenFL backend that supports Flash 3D than to maintain a library for people to use on top of OpenFL. If anyone has considered collaborating on something like that, here's a chance to pipe up. :-)
Finally, while 3D rendering is done, my native builds are still complicated by two missing features in openfl-native that I request– support for UTF-8 regular expressions, and an implementation for GL.readPixels() . I'll bring these up with Granick, but if anyone else knows their way around NDLLs, I'd be interested in hearing how we can add these features ourselves. :-D #opengl #stage3d #glsl2agal
