CTA Chief Forrest Claypool, a self-styled reformer, hires longtime government executives who held high-level positions in the old-school administrations of father and son Cook County Board presidents John and Todd Stroger: http://bit.ly/1mcKT0I
For years, Forrest Claypool railed against "the friends and family hiring practices" of Cook County Board presidents John and Todd Stroger , accusing the father and son of running a county government that was rendered bloated, costly and ineffective by patronage hiring.

City in a Garden, Under Light? http://trib.in/TeT4js
Mayor Rahm Emanuel ’s latest idea to boost Chicago’s tourism numbers involves finding a company to light up city bridges, buildings, CTA platforms and other locations to hopefully “transform the world’s opinion of Chicago” and convince people to visit and stay here longer.

Some of the scenes for CNN's so-called "documentary," called "Chicagoland," were coordinated with Mayor Rahm Emanuel's staff. Emails, obtained by Tribune Reporter Bill Ruthhart, document the tale: http://bit.ly/QLymGm
If it seemed as though some scenes of CNN's documentary series "Chicagoland" were coordinated by Mayor Rahm Emanuel 's City Hall and the show's producers, that's because they were.

Great story by my talented colleague Colleen Mastony, terrific quote from my good friend Stewart Goldman, M.D.: http://bit.ly/1eA2P58
The nurses on the 20th floor were the first to see them. “Oh my goodness,” declared Colleen Forrester, 29, a nurse dressed in green scrubs, who pointed to the windows. Other nurses came to look and laughed at the sight. Were the children strong enough to come see?

People forget the crucial nature of the proper, timely delivery of basic city services other than police and fire. In this case, the failure to trim or remove a tree allegedly led to the paralyzation of a delivery man: http://bit.ly/1jjUG4k
