I've watched 55 episodes of "Dogs With Jobs". Only 10 to go.

My favorite thing to do with computers is to see how lazy they can allow me to be. Having a 'daily' bookmarks folder frees up another section of my brain from having to think.

The chain-saw is back for another day buzzing our windbreak into sawdust. Where once was a large tree embracing the living room and office is now a great gaping hole. As close to prairie sky as you can get in the mountains.

The squirrels have obviously left the area.

This is what I get when I search for MRINs (User IDs) between 5000 and 5999. There's only one (5562) that is an accurate result, but if I change the number it swaps with another one. And if I change that one it swaps back again and so on in an endless loop. Obviously, everything else is irrelevant to my query.

Is it just me, or would someone else like to try a similar search?

What I've now noticed about this result is that Legacy has a problem with MRINs for multiple marriages being too far apart. When I change the numbering the problem goes away.

For instance, 24188/1450 still shows up in a search for 5000-5999. The other numbers don't anymore because I've changed them.

Here's an idiot question: What do you call the United States before it was called the United States in your Master Location List?

You may want to at least say whose colony it was to help you find records in the future. Not all of the colonial records are in the US.

I'm trying to see the upside of no trees. When the clouds go away I can lie on my deck and get sunburned.

Only two trees left to decimate and we'll be living in a desert.

I am recovering from 8 hours of listening to a chain-saw. Neighbours complaining that leaves from OUR maple trees are blowing into THEIR yards. Management company orders the trees to come down. The wild and uncontrollable MUST be controlled. This is how paradise gets paved over.

How does a person get so disconnected that when they look at a tree they think, I HATE those leaves; they're BOTHERING me

What's the point of Legacy Search having a time limit to it? Sometimes I pause, and only for a few seconds, and the search starts again at the top of the search list.

hmm I use version 8 - perhaps that was a glitch they fixed (would be nice to include the fix in 7.5).

I've been hoping forever to be able to use drag&drop in the individual Address windows. It doesn't work there (v.7) but it does work in other places, like Notes and Source Detail. For your added comfort and convenience.

Following on from the last post about focus, I'm looking for exactly how to accomplish this feat of narrowing down my research. Obviously I can't do justice to a database of over 20000 people. I have relatives ranging from 10th great-grandparents in the 1600's to 10th cousins born last year.
