This person in a contemporary work called 'Stand Off' reminded me of +Tim Nguyen. It's perhaps because it's an Asian guy with a gangster's LA hat on.

"During the election, GOP leaders downplayed Obamacare repeal as a priority, because they knew they’d have no chance of overcoming President Obama’s veto. But since then they decided to make a repeal vote one of their first orders of business, because freshmen legislators wanted to say that they, too, voted for repeal."
As the GOP voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act again, even its own members looked bored.

The photos are amazing.

Photo # 25: I wonder what this young boy and girl grew up into. Did they grow out of their indoctrinated racism?

Remembering Martin Luther King Jr. in Photos - 37 photos - http://goo.gl/YbimuL - Today, in the United States, we observe Martin Luther King Day, a federal holiday established in 1986 to honor the slain civil rights leader and his accomplishments. In the 1950s and 60s, King grew into a powerful speaker and promoter of nonviolent resistance to unjust laws, inspiring thousands to protest the injustices of segregation and fight these laws in the courts.

The proof of the pudding as they say, is in the eating. This is also a trending story on the Atlantic.

Home made Æbleskivers for breakfast today.

Trader Joe's sells very nice frozen ones that I've been missing. Finally found a recipe that tastes good. The trick, it turns out, is a well seasoned pan and cardamom in the batter.

Nice! But you're going overboard with the plurals, "æbleskiver" is already plural ("æbleskive" is the singular) so there is no need to add an additional s to that ...

“What are the chances of a cobra biting Harold, Jeeves?” that Jeeves will answer: “Slight, I should imagine, sir. And in such an event, knowing the boy as intimately as I do, my anxiety would be entirely for the snake.”

I, personally, would not pick The Inimitable Jeeves as my centibook. I would pick The Code of the Woosters or Thank you, Jeeves

The chef from my favorite Vegetarian restaurant (Ubuntu in Napa, sadly now closed) has started his own restaurant in San Francisco that focuses on vegetables (but is not exclusively vegetarian).

If you live in the Bay Area, I urge you to go try the restaurant. I am planning to go the next time I am thereabouts.

Get Off My Lawn! Say Hi to the Greygler Special Edition Android Figure.
#android   #greyglers   #lifeatgoogle

Here at Google, some of our colleagues with above average career experience (and maybe some gray hairs) call themselves Greyglers. They've been known to tell the young whippersnappers to "Get Off My Lawn!" a time or two. Appropriately, now they have their own special edition Android figurine (courtesy +Andrew Bell).

Let the begging and jealousy commence. And no, I don't have a stack laying around for you, nor a secret link for you to get yours. Not even you +Barry Schwartz.

+Thaths what's the average age of greyglers? There's truth in what you say, but I also see a lot of impatience in today's world with last year's model - whether it is the smartphone or the human. I wonder where we are headed in such a great hurry that we can't slow down to smell the flowers.

Go ahead and buy the phone +Thaths I didn't have to wait a week to tell you it's excellent. I'm yet to find something I couldn't easily alter to my liking. It's a very nice device.

If anything it's Android that's got the Windows effect going. After a point with Windows at first, but later with Linux and OS X the OS simply stopped delighting. It's the extreme diminishing marginal utility of every extra line of code. After all the show stopper bugs have been squashed and every killer feature has been added the odds of a neat surprise in any new version are slim.

So in that aspect a switch to cyanogen was nice. I haven't used it in a while, so I was pretty pleased with the privacy guard feature. After Google went out of its way to stomp out Appops in 4.4.3+ it was a sore point for me that cyanogen fixes.
