I didn't know but there is actually a black cat appreciation day and it's today! August 17. I guess there's a day for everything now.

This is a cat that started living with me last October, his name is Lucifer.

This is Iron Creek Falls, East of Mount St. Helens.
I took this last fall on a trip to Windy Ridge Viewpoint for a wind buffeted night sleeping in the car.

Today it happened and I didn't miss it!
The 2004 KIA Sorento has been a wonderful vehicle, if only it got better gas mileage.

Fireworks Overload
If y'all could take the time to +1 the ones that strike you it would help me decide which ones to enter in a contest :-)
These are 19 pictures I took during the 4th celebration in #thedalles  Oregon. I've lived here for 13 years and this is this first #fireworks  show that's been put on here in that time. They did a great job! So far, plans are already under way to have another one next year. If you're in Oregon or Washington you should come enjoy the show. The Dalles is a great natural amphitheater for such a display.

Are there any +Fitbit users in my circles? Any users who want to share stats by being friends?
I've been using my Fitbit One for a month now and it's been interesting seeing how (in)active I am.

I got this a couple weekends ago outside of Kent Oregon. It's probably the shot that will finally push me into multiple exposures and some experimenting with HDR. The sun never would cooperate and light up the old buildings enough for me.
