I like to find out if there are similar experiences with other folks

70% Chance of Cyclone Formation in 48 Hours. A trough of low pressure located several hundred miles southeast of Acapulco, Mexico, continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
Upper-level winds are expected to become more conducive for development during the next couple of days, and a tropical depression is likely to form over the weekend while the low moves west-northwestward or northwestward near the coast of Mexico.
Interests along the southern and southwestern coasts of Mexico should monitor the progress of this disturbance.
Locally heavy rain, flash floods and mud slides are likely in these areas starting tomorrow and continuing through the weekend.
~ Formation chance through 48 hours: high - 70%
~ Formation chance through 5 days: high - 80%

Prosecutors in the Mexican state of Sinaloa say they have detained three suspects in connection with the presumed killing of two Australian tourists who went missing last month.
State prosecutor Marco Antonio Higuera said the three men were robbing motorists on a stretch of highway leading south of the town of Topolobampo in Sinaloa. He said two other suspected members of the robbery gang remained at large.
The three were arrested on low-level drug-dealing and weapons charges, but Higuera said he expects homicide charges to be filed against them soon.

Thousands of tourists were stranded in the storm-battered Mexican Pacific resort of Los Cabos on Thursday, with water in short supply and looted stores sitting empty as a new hurricane threatened to buffet the popular tourist hub.
For those still trapped, the usually dry and pleasant resort region of Los Cabos had turned into a disaster zone.
In La Paz, hundreds of houses were damaged and local people ripped out drain pipes to access water.
"We don't have water for the toilet, to prepare food," said La Paz resident Isabel Aguirre. "We organized ourselves and came because we need to get water."

There were reports of gunfire overnight, and residents in Los Cabos lit large bonfires to try to protect their neighbourhoods as they faced a fourth day without power or running water following the blow from Hurricane Odile. Police announced they would stop and question anyone on the streets after nightfall to make sure they had legitimate business at that hour.

Tropical Storm Norbert is approaching hurricane strength in the waters south of the Baja Peninsula
Tropical Storm Norbert is approaching hurricane strength in the waters south of the Baja Peninsula, taking advantage of unusually warm 29.5°C (85°F) Sea Surface Temperatures. Satellite loops on Wednesday morning showed that Norbert had developed some very intense eyewall thunderstorms with cold cloud tops.
Norbert could undergo rapid intensification from a tropical storm with 60 mph winds to a Category 2 hurricane with 100 mph winds by Thursday morning.
However, Norbert is a small storm, and it's hurricane-force winds are only expected to reach out about 20 - 25 miles from the center when it makes its closest pass by the tip of the Baja Peninsula on Thursday night and Friday morning
