I learned three things from Daniel Smith's very engaging memoir/series of reflections about his own anxiety.  One, at least one other person shares my surprising experience of Philip Roth as an anxiety-palliative; two, I'm not actually much of an anxious person, tending more toward melancholy, unhappiness, and low life force; and three, if you have a troubling sexual experience, don't talk it over with your mother.
