You might think a novel about a young person trying to find herself after her father has died and her super-cool sister has committed suicide would be contrived, implausible, or just over-done.  But in this case you'd be wrong.  I read Invisible Circus -- Jennifer Egan's first novel -- because I liked A Visit from the Good Squad and Look at Me so very very much.  Like those other books, it is highly engaging.  Unlike those books, it has narrative simplicity, really delightful.
