My mom, sisters, best friend (Maid of Honor) and I came here for breakfast during my wedding dress shopping weekend. We had a table waiting for us when we arrived. The pastry and quiche selection was awesome. I'm not a coffee drinker but my company really enjoyed their drinks and my milk was delicious! :) I will be back!

Always fantastic. Love the baguettes and all of the pastries are fantastic. Try the almond croissant!

After years of researching for a unique place to get myself back in my Francophone origins, La Baguette came in town blessed my week-ends again. This is a typical French bakery, from the warm real croissants to their original Pain choco, not to mention the multi flavor Tartes, La buche noel, they got me greedy again. Nice place to seat and enjoy your order while whistling some "vieux air of Joe Dassin or Lenorman, Dalida, Johnny Haliday" one of my best seat in town. Great for friends, families, French classes. Check with Olivier the owner or Madame....

I really used to love this place, but lately it's been slipping. I went in recently at lunch time and waited 5 minutes at the counter just for someone to take my order, and nobody came. Meanwhile the owner stood there chatting with another customer in the cafe. I left without ordering I decided to give them one more chance a few weeks later. I ordered the ham and cheese sandwich, which traditionally has been superb. However this time it was just ham and cheese on a roll. Bland and dry. No butter, no little pickles. It was so terrible I threw it away.

Great fresh food, comfortable dining, reasonable prices. I visited La Baguette for brunch. They have a truly Parisian menu featuring eggs done in a variety of forms including frittata's, French toast, Omelets and Benedict. Most are served with a salad and a baguette. The pâtisserie is in house; croissants and baguettes were flaky on the outside just like they should be. Not that the place was teaming with children but they have a reasonably priced kid's menu, most items came with fresh fruit which was perfect in portion. Read the pamphlet available on tables to learn about Feng Shui and just how influential the owners are to the food scene in Madison WI. A few things to note: they do not have huge portions like Monty's, they do not have fried potatoes, I don't think the OJ is fresh squeezed. Note to the manager: Get new coffee -- Jacob Brothers coffee is too acidic and also served by Manna's. Definately change vendors next time you have the chance and watch your sales rise! Just a little more. I have spent the last 8 years in NYC and it took courage to step into a Parisian restaurant in a strip mall that included an ink and toner store. But it was really comfortable, had windows on 2 sides and the kitchen was not hidden so it feels real. The staff was cheery and the service was appreciated (nice sometimes not to have to bus your own tables like everywhere else in Madison). The food was light yet filling. I would recommend La Baguette to others.

I ordered a Buche de Noel from here because I was sick of reading about them in fancy magazines and cookbooks and never actually eating (or seeing) one myself! So we will have a great Christmas Eve a la francais. But my boyfriend and I went here today to pick up the cake and the pain au chocolat, hot chocolate and quiche were superb. If I shut my eyes to all the Wisconsin snow I could almost be in France! There were also many French people there (staff AND customers). My boyfriend had the tart au fruit and I guess he liked it from the way he ate it, LOL. Go here. Now. Bonne chance!
