Intelligent Music Metadata
Every time you search for a song, an artist, an instrument, a genre or composer, you’re using metadata. Streaming sites, discovery engines, mobile apps and record sellers all use metadata. It’s a $500 million market that most people have never heard of. If it’s done right, you’ll never notice it. But you will notice when it’s wrong. When you get ‘cover art not found’ or you find ‘REM’ but not ‘R.E.M.’, or you see ‘Mozart’ listed as an artist.
Decibel is putting this right - and in doing so creates a new revenue stream for the music industry.
Decibel works with labels, publishers, retailers and distributors to create metadata that improves sales and revenues from music distribution while improving the quality of metadata across the industry.
Decibel’s AI machine learning technologies correct, normalize, enhance, and inter-relate all the available knowledge on each track, album, venue, rights-holder, performer, geography and instrument to create a 3D matrix of data.
This asset of accurate, complete and 3D data is provided (via a cloud-based API toolkit) to the labels, collection agencies, retailers and digital service providers so that they may create innovative products, improve processes, deliver enhanced consumer experiences, and generate more sales.
The revenues Decibel generate are in turn shared with the rights holders, so that they make money from their valuable metadata.
