Check out one of our favorite fair vendors on the @IamSteveHarvey Show today: http://ow.ly/O4EK3 #deepfried
The first time Greensboro native Felicia Turrentine-Daniel got a call from the producers of the television show “Steve Harvey,” she thought she was being pranked.

Most enjoyable are the arts, crafts, and farming. Not so much the rides and carny operators. Not all the food is a good value either. The best taste/value by far is the roast turkey leg.

I need someone to help me figure out something.... Has anyone who attended The North Carolina State Fair ever went to get their face painted and if so, Did you get it painted by a man named Steve Brochu? He works in the section of the festival called The Kiddie land and he has a purple tent and he is blonde, and has been face painting for many years now! I want to say that he is the best face painter that I have ever known, very talented and if anyone has had theirs or their kid's face painted by him, can you please kindly reply back and let me know if you felt the same way or what was your experience with him, you and or your kids and family....

OMG---this was my 1st time back since I moved here 17 years ago. Much has changed for the better. Cleaner, AMAZING FOOD,ESPECIALLY TROPICAL DELIGHTS. More room to move around. I felt like a kid. Great way to celebrate my daughter's birthday. She and her friends had a blast.

As a concerned citizen, I am highly disappointed in my experience at the NC fair. We drove an hour and a half, paid $10 to park, paid $10 for a ticket. Just find that the gates were closing. It was a group of 6 of us. 3 of us bought tickets and waited for our other 3 friends. When they finally arrived at the gate to purchase tickets, they were turned away. No personnel informed us on what was going on. I asked the officer at the front gate if they were closing and he said, "Yes, no one else can come in." I asked him if I could get a refund for my ticket and he told me to speak to the lady at the ticket booth. She was very rude and declined my request for a refund. I told her that if we can no longer enjoy the fair then we should be able to get our money back. She said that we can use the tickets for the rest of the fair but get this: when I bought my ticket, I never received an actual ticket. So now I have just wasted $20 and a tank of gas. Allow me to make a suggestion to decrease the hassle that could come in the future. The times that the ticket booth closes should be written on the website. Also, clear communication should be made to the parking attendants so they will not take customer's money and can kindly turn them away.

Sorry to be a downer here but I was very disappointed in the State Fair. My background is in agriculture and I have been to multiple county and state fairs in other states. The emphasis has always been on agriculture and education. Of course there is rides and food but the attraction is the animals, crops, dairy and maple. Maybe I missed the good part of the fair due to the fact that it was impossible to navigate. A serious maze to find anything. Too many food vendors, rides placed sporadically and an abysmal entertainment line up. There weren't many areas that people could interact and learn, even the indoor spaces were crowded. I was very sad to see that the animal barns were closed off. It's a shame that the farmers can't show off their prized livestock to the public even worse I heard parents misinforming their children. "why cant we see the animals mommy" "they are diseased" "idk sweetheart they just don't want us to see" It was concerning to me. We only stayed for two hours nothing to do only things to buy. Great fun for families who can afford it and only have interest in food, shopping and rides but you might find less crowds at your local mall.

We had a BLAST! There is something for everyone. We spent more time with all the extras outside of rides and games this year and it was so much fun. There didn't seem to be as many rides this year, but we still had fun nonetheless.

My family and I love going to the fair every year but we have noticed a significant increase in vendor food sales. We will probably not be going next year due to the high cost of everything there.
