These savory biscuits go along nicely with a big bowl of soup or chili. Be sure to not handle the dough too much before cutting into biscuits and make sure your baking powder is fresh. These two things should help keep your biscuits fluffy.
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning or herbs of your choice (fresh herbs could also be used)
1/2 cup butter or coconut oil
1 egg
2 tsp.

A great time of year to make a potato leek soup.  These vegetables are plentiful and very affordable.
3 tbsp. vegetable oil
3 leeks (use the white & light green parts) thinly sliced
1 rib of celery and 1 carrot
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dried thyme
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 Yukon gold Potatoes (2 lbs.) peeled and chopped
4 cups chicken or vegetable stock
4 cups strongly brewed Lapsang Souchong ( 10 tsp. tea steeped in 4 1/2 cups of boiling water for 5 minutes. Strain tea & measure 4 cups.

It's that time of year again when a bowl of soup is a great way to start a meal. Pu-erh Tea is a fermented Tea that has an earthy taste complimenting the taste of the mushrooms in this creamy soup.
Pu-erh is known to help with digestion after a greasy meal.
8 oz. fresh mushrooms sliced
3 tbsp. onions chopped
2 cloves garlic
2 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
2 cups strongly brewed Caramel Pu-erh TEA (4 tsp. TEA steeped in 2 1/4 cups boiling water for 5 min. Strain TEA and measure 2 cups.)
1 cup light cream, evaporated milk, almond milk or coconut milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp.

Left over turkey or chicken can be used in this recipe. Serve over cooked rice or noodles. Add more spice if desired.
4 1/2 cups broccoli cut into florets
6 tbsp. butter
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup diced red pepper
1/2 cup flour
5 tsp. gram masala spice
1 tbsp. curry powder
3 cups chicken stock
3/4 cup 5% or 10% cream or non-dairy alternative
3/4 cup strongly brewed Lapsang Souchong TEA (3 tsp. TEA steeped in 1 cup boiling water for 5 minutes.

An easy no bake recipe making a lighter version of pumpkin pie. Omit the cookie crumbs to make this recipe gluten free.
1 cup pumpkin puree
1 cup plain 10% Mediterranean-style yogurt or Greek yogurt
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. Rooibos Chai Latte mix
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/3 cup whipping cream (35%)
1 tbsp. sugar gingersnap cookies crumbled for topping
In a food processor, blend pumpkin, yogurt, sugar, vanilla and Chai Latte mix until smooth. Scrape into large bowl.

These slightly smoky tasting lentil burgers are a nice change from your regular burger. Change the spice mix to create new flavours.
2 cups of water
2 Tbsp. Smokey Russian Caravan or Lapsang Souchong Black Tea
2/3 cup green lentils
2 eggs
1 tsp. each paprika, garlic powder, cumin
1/2 tsp. each cinnamon and salt
1/2 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
5-6 Burger buns
Place water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add tea. Let steep for 5 minutes then strain into a heat proof container. Transfer back to original saucepan. Rinse lentils and place in hot tea.

Enjoy the taste of pumpkin pie in your cup with this easy to make latte. Adjust the pumpkin pie spice to suit your taste.
1 1/2 cups vanilla flavoured almond milk
2 tbsp. pumpkin puree
1 tsp. Rooibos Chai Latte mix
1/4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
Pour almond milk into a small saucepan and whisk in pumpkin puree, Rooibos Chai Latte mix and pumpkin pie spice. Keep whisking until almond milk is hot. Pour into mug and garnish with cinnamon if desired. Serves one.

2 tsp. Rooibos Chai latte mix or 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup coconut oil at room temperature - do not melt (can also use butter if desired)
1 cup pure pumpkin puree
1 egg
1/3 cup strongly brewed Gingersnap Cookie or your choice of a spicy Rooibos tea
(3 tsp. of tea steeped in 2/3 cup of boiling water until cool.

Lapsang Souchong is a black tea that is smoked over pine embers and adds great flavour to soups.  Use it in place of chicken stock or water in any soup recipe for a natural smoke flavour.
